Indeed, I just had picnic table envy when travelling with Gnil 
Of course this is my long awaited RS.. Too slow roads and too much traffic this afternoon to get much of an impression other than it's certainly quieter than the non-filter .2 RS. The exhaust pops have gone but it still makes that kind of intake pop noise when changing gear. I suspect it will sing when I can give it some revs and throttle but for sure the exhaust won't be such a factor.
It's surprisingly comfortable to drive - feels less harsh than my .1 GT3..
Now need to pile on some km before I take it to the track in 2 weeks...

Hehe.. I wonder.. I reckon 90% of them won't at all, but there's 2 who will for sure. Most will just wonder where it was while my parking space was empty for 2 months
That reminds me of a friend who, for several years, would change company cars annually but would get the same car in the same color so the neighbors couldn't tell he had a new car. He then switched to a Ford Fusion PHEV so he could collect the tax credit. He hated that car because he couldn't fit his hockey gear in the boot. Canadians...

So I have just about 1000km on now, time for some impressions..
Unsurprisingly, it's rather good
I was surprised how quiet it is on motorways, more so than my .1 GT3 and certainly more so than the non-filter .2 RS. However my GT3 had 'well used' tyres so maybe the new rubber makes a difference there. This is good for me as I tend to do long trips and a bit less NVH makes them more pleasant.
The engine sounds inside the car remain great, perhaps even a little nicer than before (and with a lot more torque). What is more of an enigma is the 'sport' exhaust. Neither Gnil or I could discern any difference from inside the car. Maybe it is not plugged in? 
I wonder if it is less on an on/off and more elaborate in the way it works, and perhaps only operates at certain loads, speeds, or throttle positions or something. That said it does seem to have developed a bit of a rattle at the back so I wonder if there is something up with it (there was a recall/check for the exhaust on some).
We noticed that upshifts seem even quicker than before, wondering if the ITBs help with a super-fast blip to the revs. Need a few more km to drive it fully spirited and really draw some conclusions.
I have carpet / soundproofing under the seats.. I thought they took this out for all .2s? Maybe it was just WP cars?
Glad I got the Bose stereo.. Main objectives there were: a) it has a separate subwoofer mounted to the shell so the door speakers shouldn't have to do low bass and buzz the door cards a lot, and b) it has 3x the power and some kind of noise compensation tech. Those two things allow me to run it at a volume that works on these long motorway trips and not distort and sound rubbish like the standard one. It sounds pretty good - of course no Burmester, but a worthwhile improvement.
Looking forward to completing the run-in and trying out the full rev range..
