I cannot understand why Ferrari and Porsche continue to use crappy exhaust pipes which look like hell. You would think they would at least make them stainless steel for the amount of money being spent on the car. 
I believe with Porsche, stainless is an option; not so with Ferrari.

Um, those tips are machined stainless steel....
And they look pretty nice to me, look at the detail close up.

According to Ferrari they're anodized aluminum. That would explain the matte outer surface - the shiny bit at the end looks like stainless, though.

In pictures, I like the painted version better, as the black parts seem to contrast too much with the relatively light red (they fit better with silver or grey). But I have to see the thing in real first to make final decision, as many say that the black inserts do look good. Perhaps it's all a matter of perspective...
