    what about the first 3000km???

    a quick question guys,in the owners manual they say that we have to drive moderatly during the first 3000km ,then the mecanics in the workshop said that these engines are preroded and no need to be smooth the first period ,personaly i made 500km under 4000rpm ,then went full blast.anybody know exactly anything about these first 3000km? does the fact to drive under 4000rpm for 3000km give the engine a better performance afterward?

    dhayek, I only do the easy driving for around 1000km and then hit it - on all my cars, it did not appear to affect anything!

    I've asked this question of many "knowledgable" people and get only opinions, not facts. If Porsche says we can go 20,000 miles before an oil change when they are responsible for the warranty, than I have to believe that the 2000 mile/3000km breakin period is important.
