    Need help to comment on Color - Aqua Blue + ?

    Hi Guy. I need help. I'll go for Aqua Blue but cannot pick the interior color. I'm choosing between Sand Beige and Terracotta. In Thailand, dealer doesn't have the real car in stock and they sold mostly ones with black interior. Do you have any photo of Aqua+Beige and Aqua+Terracotta? Thanks so much.

    I would absolutely avoid the Sand Beige. Take a look at Natural Brown. Beige is simply too light.

    I saw my first aqua blue 997 yesterday in my dealer's showroom, very close to cobalt blue in shade but brighter. This car had ocean (sea) blue interior which looked really classy - but I would say that as our own car is Cobalt with ocean blue, with lots of aluminium highlights to bring in a contrast.

    For what it's worth, in my opinion sand beige does not work well with cobalt / aqua, works much better with midnight blue. Terracotta is not a combination that would look right either, IMO. I don't think cobalt / aqua works too well with the "butch" 911 styling, looks much better on the more dainty Boxster. If I was in the fortunate position to be ordering a 997 it would be ruby red for me, definitely.


    But you have to make your own mind up, as has been written here many times before, every ones taste is different, the more you listen to the opinion of others the more confused you will get.

    I have gone for an aqua blue C4S and my initial interior was to be sand beige, but after seeing it in the flesh it all looked a bit too washed out for my tastes. SO! i have gone for the dark blue interior leather (midnight?) and spec'd the interior console in exterior colour with some aluminium bits. I am hoping this will look good!

    Just my 2 cents worth, but I went for the aluminium look centre console as I thought having exterior colour there would be just too much blue...

    If you go with black you don't need extra leather to keep the interior coherent. A few trim pieces in exterior color such as the dash trim strip, gear shift, or rear center console will add some interest w/o exorbitant costs. A black interior always looks good on a sports car. If you have money to burn deviated stitching in blue is also a possibility w/ a black full leather interior.

    Look at your home surroundings. Which is more your style? Minimalist, clean and efficient or ornate, embellished, excesssive? No right or wrong answer.

    If you like clean and uncluttered get _BLACK_ interior. Black hides all the stuff going on in this car.

    Otherwise 997 ____IMHO_____ is waaaaay too busy with different trims, materials, textures, shapes, lines, buttons, junk.

    I like this comp too. Shows how much is going on and what it looks like to some. Just trying to help. Consider this and then get what you want. Eventually, a few months after delivery, you don't even notice what you've done anyway (right of wrong). LOL.

    IMHO Aqua goes best with blue, black or grey stone interior. Some US launch cars are equipped with this Aqua/grey combination. I saw it in person, it is very nice, go the US porsche site and the dealer section. Herb Chambers in Boston shows pictures. ( take zip code 02467 and Herb is the first dealer ) I hope this helps you decision process.

    Aqua Blue is the best Porsche blue in years - finally a blue that doesn't have purple in it .

    It's a great Cab color for California, imo. : Aqua Blue with natural brown leather, rear center console painted blue would be my default combo because ....

    I don't understand why Porsche continues have that dated 80s medium grey interior option ( seats,door ,dash,steering wheel,carpets ) that looks ldentical to the drab interior color scheme of EVERY crappy rental car out there .

    How about something CURRENT and SPORTY , Porsche , like a light silver interior with piano black instead of "plaluminum " and dramatic contrasting black dash/carpets/steering wheel as offered by BMW and Audi.

    Thanks everyone so much for your help. I had Boxster in guard red + beige. I love this combo but I don't want to get 911 in red again. I wish the dealer here has the varity choices in stock for me to choose. it's very hard to choose without seeing the real ones. I might have to visit dealer in europe in order to see the real car during my next trip.

    I'd take the interior in black and paint the centre console as per outside colour - its a real feature!!

    Sand beige is too light for the Aqua. Go with a winner,--natural brown. (And the leather is their best quality).

    The best match for aqua blue is the grey interior. I would go for the 2 tone grey and black. if you go for the black or 2 tone interior, you may also want to consider black painted wheels of your choice.
