Like Doc said, porsche lives in retro world, by keeping the same thing going for 40+ years and by going back to the big single headlamp look.
Retro-schmetro if something looks good it should be perpetuated or it should be gone back to. Good design is timeless.
This new camaro is a great design whether you call it a camaro or some other name. btw it most closely resembles the late 60's firebird.
Now if only chevy would bring back an updated split window 60's stingray instead of the 1984 wedge of cheese they have now.
Below a shot from the Camaro video showing how possible it is to have a sleek roof line and tall doors, like the panamera drawing showed;

The split window corvette is worth a lot now bacause they were only built for 1 model year . Why ? Drivers complained they couldn't see out the back . Remember , this is 1963, years before European mid engined exotica pretty much eliminated the whole idea of rear view vision - sat in a Countach lately ?

Better looking than the concept. True to its history. IMO it will be the best looking american production sports car and hold its' own against others in the non-exotice category.
Amazing power to at 422 HP/ 408 TQ.
Are these stats for the RS, or the SS.

No but a little OT, I went on the first east coast bull run a few years back. It was a run from NYC to benningtin VT. I drove out to the meeting spot in NY state. It was a cold day, 2 lane country road, small no frills rest stop out in the country. As we approached you could see 7 early and mid 80's countachs lined up next to each other in the spaces. They were joined by 70 exotics from nyc 30 minutes later including a dozen diablo's. I sat in a murcie and gallardo that day, not appealing on the inside.
Back on topic, a design as fresh and attractive as this with these numbers and price, a camaro SS is tough to beat, independent suspension, coilovers, and brembo's.
To my eyes this a bad-ass winning look compared to most everything else currently for sale. If they just assemble it with the right fasteners.
click on the tom peters video on this page and listen to the engine as it moves away in the first 15 seconds, it sounds mean almost approaching my 928.
