Porsche Insurance

I know this is a boring subject but whilst shopping around for insurance for my new 997.2 I got a reasonably competitive deal through Porsche Insurance and wondered if anyone else on the forum as gone down this route? It also includes 2 track days as part of each year + the usual extras.

I was pretty impressed with the quote (nearly Pounds200 cheaper than my M3!) Pounds812 all in.

Yep i use them on my new 997.2 ! They are very good both at price and service.

I like the fact that you can get the OPC to replace the windscreen if it goes. On one of my previous Porsches the insurance company made me use Auto Glass... Those mongs invalidated the 10 year warranty on my car when they damaged the paint work around the windscreen and caused rust .....

The track day info is interesting ? is it fully comp or third party ?

Comprehensive I believe with a 10% excess. The excess might not be right and I believe the insurer is Norwhich Union.

Thanks for sharing.

Have an order in for a 997.2 2S Cab. Not aware that Porsche offers insurance on their vehicles in the US.

Is anyone on the board had experience as to which US insurance companies are more "Porsche-friendly" i.e. better premiums, event concessions, etc.?

Hi, I've been insured with Porsche Insurance for a couple of years now and am very pleased with them. You're right about the trackday cover - the excess goes to 10% of the declared value while on the track. You're allowed 2 track days per year but they must be official PCGB track days.

Hi!

I have Porsche insurance too and it is v good - the track cover is correct fully comp and 10% excess if there is a claim - I didn't know that it was restricted to PCGB events though - when I've been to the track I just call them, provide the details and they send a cover note - easy!!

I use Porsche Insurance and for me at least they are the cheapest and you dont get hassles if you need to repaired. The 2 free track days is a real financial bonus.

I find Porsche Insurance excellent and competitive. The brokers are Marsh Private Clients (insurers Norwich Union) and they are always extremely helpful. So much so that my daily driver and SWMBO's cars are also insured through Marsh. Track day cover is comprehensive but excess is 10% of the car's insured value. It does exclude the Nurburgring!

Thanks for the comments. I went with them as they were indeed the cheapest, service was good and I'm looking forward to doing a couple of track days.

I got the big "no" for the Ring also :-)
