    I attended a local launch event for the lp560-4 on Thursday, I am a big Lambo fan but oddly this car does not look as nice in the flesh as I thought it would. Perhaps it was just the colours but it photographs very well.

    I drove past that Lamborghini dealership during my recent vacation in the USA. It's in Newport Beach, Orange County CA

    I still haven't warmed up to this design. I still like the old Gallardo body.

    looks just like the old Gallardo to me! nothing wrong in that but i certainly don't need to spend the extra $100k for a 09!

    Nah, it's not all cosmetic improvements. They've made some under the skin as well ....
    Bigger and all new engine. Rear subframe and suspension from the R8 for better handling. Better tranny. Less interference from the electronic handling nannies.

    Whether this warrants the premium over a nice used, SL, SE, or post 06 model - I dunno? Up to you.

    I know that Audi have a hand in the production process with Lambo as they are part of the family, but I was surprised to see Audi badges adorning parts of the engine, visible parts at that.

    The LP 560-4 is the most brutally fast car I have ever driven! The thing is like a rocket! If you have the opportunity I thoroughly recommend it! WAY more aggressive than the F430!

    Well better than VW engines in Cayennes or Fiat air conditionings in Ferraris

    None of the sports car makers could put any modern regulation compliant car on the market without significant procurement of developed " parts off the shelf " from other makers/suppliers . Looks beyond the " label " on these parts - they are all third party sourced from the same suppliers worldwide .
    Every piston, brake caliper,seat, switch, screw , elctronic control module -you name it- from a Hyundai to a Veyron is pretty much sourced out .


    take Ferrari as an example - the only thing they still make in house is the engine block , I believe . Otherwise , they are a " shelf of parts " assembler like everyone else.

    There have been predictions that in 20 years , no manufacturer will even own their own factories or even have in house engineering other than those involved in harmonizing various systems. They will all be vitual " branding " firms like in the fashion biz , farming everything out ,including assembly , to contracters. Look how many Porsche and BMW models are now assembled by outside firms - it will be a cheaper business model without the headaches and long term responsibilities of managing hundreds of thousands of workers and retirees .
