    Re: Panamera's Face

    ISUK,

I agree. I feel the same way, since this was a fresh start they should have come up with something new and radical. 4-door sedan didn't have a heritage like the 911 to follow the same lines, this was their chance to break away and come up with something fresh.

As majority said the front seems ok (I like the front) but my concern is the back of the car. We have to wait and see.

    Re: Panamera's Face

Indeed. A shame they didn't do something more radical. The 911 is a truly iconic shape but they have to diversify...

What they are doing ("re-interpreting the 911's shape for different applications") is very unimaginative and ultimately very narrow minded and limiting.

Just to say this-I saw pretty interesting presentation about new P. models...

    some very tasteful news???

PDK! BUT, not in all models from the start as you will see...

So does that confirm what I had been told last simmer. The GT3 is not getting PDK for the moment ?

    Re: Panamera's Face

Somebody knows how many modifications Panamera will get?

I like the 575M... I hope the Panamera looks as good as the 575M!

    Another dreamer...

    Re: Panamera's Face

I could assure you that the rear section will look gorgeous ! The spoiler lift will be similar to that of a 997TT and not the carrera

    Re: Panamera's Face

Porsche's last and very expensive "clean sheet of paper" was the 928. Despite its generally acknowleged brilliance, 5000 sales/yr (or less) between 1978 and 1995 is probably something Porsche doesn't want to repeat w/ the Panamera. Porsche's balance sheet over the last 40 years suggests that linking the Panamera to the 911 is a safer bet than attempting a cutting edge design.

There's a whole new generation of more adventurous buyers today Dave than there were back in the 70's. The market generally is very receptive to new design. BMW are proof of that. And bold new looks for traditional marques also sell. Just look at the Rolls Royce Phantom.

    Re: Panamera's Face

am i the only one who finds it dissapointing that there are no LED turn signals (a la Turbo) on Panameras face?

    nick

    Re: Panamera's Face

I think you are the only one, because I suspect the light unit in the front intake contains LED lights...

Anything else than LED lights at the front would be barefaced.

    Re: Panamera's Face

Not to many sedans come with a wing, odd when considering they didn't go with a low sleek design like rapide.

This must really be a play for aging 911 owners who need a back seat. I see it canabalizing cayenne sales.

can someone make a pic out of the attachment

If that's what you think, then it's a good thing that the car will apparently have LED lights at the rear.
Wouldn't want to see people driving around bare-a$$ed!

I have been told by one of the Porsche mule tester that the turbo will be with 6 speed manual or PDK and that the turbo S would only be with PDK ( no manual)

    Re: Panamera's Face

And what about that the 7 speed manual gearboxes?

    Re: Panamera's Face

I hope with next model year and GT3s and turbos to come, that we will see something like "PDK Sport", which is more direct and less influencing than the current one.

    Re: Panamera's Face

Hopefully this PDK Sport will also have the conventional shift paddles like my other cars!
