    Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

Have submitted my spec. Midnight Blue, full dark grey natural leather with deviated Midnight Blue stitching through out, leather seat belt buckles and A,B,C pillars, etc., in leather plus full carbon package except the central 'transmission' cover.
Now the sales guy suggests carbon trim for seat belt outlet covers. This is only a small piece and I can't find any photo's - any one can help?

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

i think the center console in carbon is THE most important item when going for carbon ! forget the seatbelt outlet....you wull not even see that. actually i can't recall if i have it on my GT2 or not...will go to check now

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

    Thanks for the response.
I did give long thoughts to centre console in carbon but it leaves you with the armrest in leather and the gear lever surround trim in vulcan grey, as your photo illustrates nicely.
I realise that these parts can be bought on the after market and thats what I intend to do with the gear shift surround, door openers, etc.
Thanks for the help. I find it shameful that Porsche cannot offer a fully illustrated list of the 'Exclusives' they try to flog us so expensively, nor can they be @rsed to offer a full carbon trim pack. i.e. door openers, gear trim, s/wheel trim, door mirror quarter trims, etc, all have to be sourced in the afters market.

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

good point. however, i really believe you shpuld go for the carbon center console.
otherwise go for an all leather interior....

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

Unless it's a case of mafiosi-like extortion money-wise, I'd get the CF belt trim. Why? Because when you look at the bottom pic the belt clip is the ugliest thing in the photo. It looks _different_ too. So in CF there'd be one less thing to notice. Or, at least you _tried_ to tie things together visually (less clutter, same materials).

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

Oh..., Geez..., forget what I said if you are NOT getting a CF rear center console. (what you call transmission cover).

IMO, full carbon doesn't make sense without the rear center console in CF. They're all bits and pieces without a major centerpiece o hold them together.

Sorry for complicating your decision... .

Eh, are you sure that in that picture you can see the CF belt outlet?

My understanding was that the belt CF or leather trim is the tiny piece at the B pillar.

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

I assumed (probably wrong) that the plastic female casing where the metal tab (male) goes, is what can be ordered in carbon.

In any case it would be nice if the part you shove the belt tab into could also be CF.

hey mmd, the part he is talking about is the belt outlet on the pillar. it's just a piece of carbon that's 1cm x 4cm that no one would ever notice.

the belt clip/box (where the belt latches into) is not available in carbon. its's either standard plastic or as in my car optional leather.

and i agree 100% if one does not order the rear center console carbon, it's better to stay away from carbon all togehter, as it is actually the only substantial carbon piece. all the rest look like 5 cent carbon stick-ons.

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

Thanks for the info intouch1. BTW, FWIW here's a nice door shot.

Don't forget aftermarket! Check this out:

Looks like you can add 300 lbs to the original weight of the car by adding aftermarket CF!

LOL. Verrrrrry funny. I'll need your address and the telephone number of your local police before I can send my CC info.

Anyway, I'm glad to help. I hope you find some more possible answers to your CF questions.

It's fun to shop around for this stuff, huh?

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

    Decisions, decisions!
Thanks guys, it was the small trim pieces which fit over the seat belt outlets on the B pillar which were in question.
I knew a lot of CF parts were available on the after market but as usual, ask a question on Rennteam and you guys come up with a whole host of sources and answers.
I think I'm going to stay with my original choice of leather trim for center console and seat belt outlets and see what it looks like when the car arrives.
I already knew that Porsche cannot do all the interior plastic parts in CF and so I willl be replacing some of them any way.
My thinking is that if i get the console and other trim in leather then I can change them out for CF by buying from the specialists BUT its a lot harder to change CF to leather trim and get a good match.

and i assure you that whatever configuration you get, you will not change anything in the future. you will be happy with the car as you receive it.

whenever i ordered a car, i surfed the net for wheels, carbon parts, car cover etc. in the end all my P's remained bone stock and i was and am happy with all of them.

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

I have it in my car. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

Couldnt find a pic of mine but realized it's different for Turbo Coupe vs Cabriolet anyway. But found this:

Stop!!! No more gorgeous CF shots! WAAAAAAHHHHH, WAAAAAAAHHHH, you're making me hate my car's crummy interior.

Re: Seat belt outlet carbon trim.

    Nice photo's - thanks guys.
Carbon center console looks particularly nice........hmmm!
Just waiting for OPC to reach agreement with Porsche Exclusives dept., that all the correct instructions for deviated stitching are acknowledged - carbon wheel deviated stitching on leather pieces has proved a little difficult for them to comprehend!

Actually it's age. The first run of consoles/cars did not have the i-560 option, now it's standard. Yours must be an early production.
