Isn't it interesting how the new bhp figures try to keep the Cayman's nose just in front of the Boxster:
Boxster:
245 to 255 bhp 290Nm
Boxster S:
295 to 310 bhp 360Nm
Cayman:
245 to 265 bhp 300Nm
Cayman S:
295 to 320 bhp 370Nm

The performance numbers are probably conservative, which is normal for Porsche. Hopefully they do something to improve the rear tail-lights before introduction as it's not working for me.

I keep hoping for you, but don't count on it. The design is final, all molds are ready already. No way they are going to change that anymore.

Yea, what do you bet that the following year the Boxster S will get the same 320hp as the Cayman S? That seems to be Porsche's M.O., I can hear the wheels in their German brains spinning right now, ...we pulled this in MY07 and it worked great, we'll pull it again for MY11!

what seems interesting is that they are not offering the DFI on the 2.9 engine, so how do we take that, is the 2.9 going to be just a rehash of the 2.7 (m96) or will it be the new 9A1 engine without dfi but 2.9l capacity?

My uneducated guess is a rehash of the M96 (they probably have some parts left over).

In the age of "just-in-time" deliveries there couldn't be any parts "left over".
On the contrary, OEM manufacturers have to make provision for maintaining supplies of most parts long after end of production in order to be able to deliver spares when required.

That part of my post was meant in jest (should've used one of these: )
