I was tinkering with the Boxster S this afternoon and came across the shock towers... Looks like there's a hex on top of it. Does this mean that they are adjustable? See pics...

What WAX do you use? The color seems to "pop". I like it.

Whoever wrote the article hasn't a clue what they are talking about or drove a car where the linkage needed adjusting. I've recently retrofitted the short shift in our car, giving me a very direct comparison and it is a revelation. Short, precise throws that really do make the standard shift seem sloppy and agricultural by comparison.

Lastly, it is beyond my understanding as to why something so simple and yet so good is an extra-cost option.

I must agree with DREAMCAR on this one. My '06 987 S had the standard linkage, and my '08 987 S was ordered with the factory short-shifter. The short-shifter is the best shifter of any car I have owned. To call the standard shifter "sloppy and agricultural" by comparison is a bit harsh, as I thought the standard shifter in my '06 was great, especially in comparison to my Lotus Elise, but I believe DREAMCAR is enthusiastically expressing his preference to the short-shifter. Lastly, it is beyond my understanding as to why something so simple and yet so good is an extra-cost option.
