A couple of things turn me off about the new design. (1) touch screens are tough to keep clean looking; (2) the hard drive system dictates that updates can ONLY be performed at your dealer. (Currently, you can make a copy of a DVD and use it to run the system). It's all about control,--and Porsche now have exclusive control over the s/w loaded into the hard drive.

Howso? The hard drive software is updated via some computer with software on it, and a cable that interfaces to the car. The cable can be replicated, and the software on the computer can also be replicated. There is no reason the updating of the PCM software has to require a dealer visit. There is nothing hack-proof about these cars.
