    If you own a 430 there may be a problem

    with the header design. About a year ago, my 430 experienced a several loss of power. It was diagnosed as a header leak which were replaced. A few days ago, I yet again had the same problem and now require a header replacement.

    Ferrari has redesigned the headers which will be available in September. Fortunately, Ferrari agreed to send the new headers (even thought they are not officially available) for my car which should arrive next Monday. Had they not agreed to do so, my car would have been in service for almost a month.

    My 430 is an early 2006.

    That's a shame Ferrari can't figure out that issue. It was a big problem way back on the 355's afaik...

    10,000 divided by 2 x (distance between Nick's home and nearest Starbucks cafe) = number of visits Nick has made to Starbucks with his F430.

    Now we just need to know how many cups Nick drinks on each visit to arrive at the total number of cups.

    Nick?

    Had mine changed already to the new version. This problem would be covered under the US Federal emissions if it cropped up out of warranty.

    Will there be an official recall? Or do you just wait to see if the problem ever pops up? Also what are the chances this may never happen with somebody else's car?

    Mike, I don't believe there will be a recall. If the problem develops, Ferrari will repair under warranty.

    Mike talk to your dealer. Get it on the record. South Africa laws are probably different than US.

    It is the hottest spot, must be using a brittle metal or to thin for weight reduction.

    I wanted to wrap mine to reduce engine bay temps but was told it would destroy the heavy steel ones on my car.

    Substantial loss of power which is immediately recognizable. I could barely get up a hill.

    This was my second set of headers. Thankfully, Ferrari redesigned them and I am getting the new ones.

    If you really get a California, you will barely need them.

    I love my 430 and it will be very difficult for me to give it up. However, if the California looks as good in person as most people say, I probably will get it.

    I will keep it only a year or two until the 430 replacement is introduced.

    Nick, I looked out for you in La Jolla. I was there on Sunday 10 August 08. Didn't see you though which was a shame I only knew I would have time to visit San Diego by the end of the evening on Friday 8 August so it was too late to get in touch.

    Actually I did go to the Starbucks in La Jolla But the Starbucks in Prospect St (which is the main street in La Jolla) was different from the now 'infamous' Starbucks that Nick was photographed outside... I don't know which Starbucks Nick was photographed outside

    Wrong Starbucks. No place to park.

    Actually the Starbuck's I frequent are not in La Jolla. Too short of a ride for me.

    They probably had to demolish it after the "infamous" photograph of Nick standing in front of it appeared on the web.
