Nice teaser I like the part where the GT2 re-appears in the side window of the LP560-4 best Assuming that you reached a top-speed of 290kph or so this clip confirms earlier statements regarding LP560-4 and GT2 delivering very similar acceleration performance. I wonder where the Scuderia was at the end of the race
I think it's fair to say that we just didn't find the Scuderia fast enough when compared to the GT2 and LP560-4. The Scuderia though was still a very impressive beast on the road and is more than fast enough for most people, but the LP560-4 surprised us by how fast it was.
I drove the GT2 earlier that morning and it was a very healthy one, I had swapped into the GT2 from a new 997.2 C2S and initially the GT2 felt a little flat, but once the boost was up it was scary fast, certainly too fast for full-throttle use on the road, but it was still very controllable.
It's great to see Porsche making the GT2 as balanced and stable as it is fast. Mind you, when we took them around Silverstone the GT2's Pilot Sport Cup tyres were unpredictable when cold, Richard Meaden who put in the first few laps almost lost the back end when braking after coming out of the maggots-beckets turns.
I forget what they were pulling along the Hangar Straight but I'm pretty sure that both GT2 and LP560-4 were each pulling more than 150mph before Stowe, which is only around 40mph or so slower than F1 cars achieve.
