You want brown? How about "latte?"

Good "gag" car, get one for a few years and trade it in for some new latest trend:

You want Orange!!?? Here you go!

Gee..., maybe Orange and Macadamia would win the Nobel Prize equivalent of the "WTF Were They Thinking Award."

My FL on order is macadamia with cocoa interior! And I resent being called a Volvo driving vest wearer :-)

I was initial set on the Basalt Black, but after thinking long and hard about it I wanted a colour that would discreetly stand out. GF initially suggested it and when I thought about it it was a great idea. You don't see many brown cars anymore and I fancied being at the fore-front of retro trend setting :-) What better way to make that statement than with a brown Porsche! I'll post pics when its delivered in Nov.

shabab 1978 check this - opening scene of 1971 film 'Le Mans' , Steve McQueen in a brown 911 !

that's not brown - there was a recent feature on that car in Excellence - think it is like atlas grey - looks awesome though!

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Hmmm, all along I thought it was a deep burgandy that was (I think) a standard color in the early 70s? Another color from that era that I like is aubergine.

    Well, I goofed. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=126937#2

Thats not gold. If you think thats gold, I've got a sack of pennies to sell you at the going price of gold.

    That is copper if anything.

FWIW, File name says "Nordic Gold." I didn't name it.

BTW here's a "Nordic Gold" Cayenne:

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Pontiac has a similar shade... Hey, if factories didn't offer some "funky" colors to get out there, life would be awfully boring...

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Here's my subjective view: I'm not a huge fan of macadamia - it doesn't suit a sports car IMHO and I also think it is one of those colours that has to be clean all the time in order to look good. Fully agree with the comment that silver hides dirt, black shows dirt and brown is dirt.

Regarding colour combos, if one really has to pick macadamia, I do think it's a huge mistake to pick cocoa with it. There's nowhere near enough contrast to make them blend. I think the only colours to go for with macadamia are natural brown or sand beige.

While I agree that it's good to go for a variety of colours (rather than just silver, black or grey all the time), I must say that the alternatives coming out from PAG recently haven't been to my taste. I'm thinking of colours like ruby red, macadamia brown, nordic gold etc etc. Other manufacturers seem to be able to provide a good selection of sober, subtle yet sophisticated colours. Unfortunately I find the PAG colour palette narrow and lacking in real choice. Maybe it's entirely deliberate to encourage the colour to sample option...

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Happened to be at a dealer's facility last weekend while he was getting a C4S Macadamia Cabriolet with cocoa interior ready for delivery. The top was down, and for the hour it remained on the very busy lot before the lucky new owners departed every single person walking thru the lot - from other actual to potential customers, salespeople, even the several porters, flocked around the car, stood, stared, circled and just plain grinned in pleasure: to every one of these few dozen people, this Porsche was simply drop-dead gorgeous. It should be noted that there were about 15 other 911s of various flavors/colors on the showroom floor and the lot, including other cabs, several turbos and a GT3; none drew the long, admiring attention or crowd of the Macadamia cab.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

for me, it would be a courageous step to go for any color other than silver, grey, and black. I grew with these porsche colors.
still, who knows what will happen next??

For me it's kinda like sculpture made from stone (modern or classical). It doesn't make a huge amount of sense to paint marble or granite a bright blue. The aesthetics of volumes, lines, shapes, present better in neutral light greys or "silver."

The car is so aesthetically compelling getting it in your favorite bright color seems to be undermining the car.
