    Those with White color 997's: need your help pls..

    I am in the process of finalizing my color spec for my special order 2009 C4s. I was all set on GT Silver and the Carrera Red Leather interior as I really like the nice combo of the factory colors and it will age well as I plan to keep this car for a long time.

    However as of late as more pics have been seen on the web of the facelifted C4s I am really liking the White exterior with the standard S wheels combo. So here are a few questions for those with white 997's:

    1. How does the paint age? Have heard some concerns on some body panels changing colors over time? Does it fade out or yellow out?

    2. For those with the C4 and C4s versions, does the white show the muscualrity and lines of the rear end of the car?

    3. Have also heard that hood scrapes, pits, and digs, and rock chips show up a lot on white and when they do they under coat appears to be black. Any thoughts/experiences?

    4. Interior color choice - as I am planning to get the special full leather my choices are red, beige or dark gray. For the white exterior I would probably consider red or the dark gray. Any thoughts on either of these combos?

    5. Please post some pics of your white C4s including interior shots.

    As much as I love white I'd pick metor gray. From the side and rear 3/4 white doesn't show off the curves as much as a gray color. Also too dark (black or midnight blue) will hide the curves too in my opinion.
    If you notice in press pictures they picked neither too dark nor too light to show off the curves. They show it in I think is blue sea or sea blue and a lighter green.

    However, any color you pick on C4S you won't regret it.

    Does meteor hide rock chips well?

    The rather large pieces of protective transparent film in front of the rear wheel arches turn yellowish in a short time and it is very conspicuous of white cars.

    See a few used cars to see what I mean.

    Also, make sure how you feel about the reflector stripe in between the rear lights. It shows up very obtrusive on the white models, maybe chosing a red car will blemish it a bit.

    Also, you can contact GT3rsjo. He has a white targa, and replaced the transparent film on the rear arches with a black film, which resembles the "old school" black fender protectors, and looks absolutely gorgeous.

    i agree, would definately put the black protector foil on a white car. not only cause it looks really nice but also because the standard ones will become yellow quite quickly...

    First, the paint does not discolor (yellow). After two years, the clear film on the front bumper and other places has yellowed slightly to a point where it is noticeable in bright sunlight. It should be replaced after two years, in my opinion. A little discoloration is worth it to me because of all the highway stone chips I'd have without it. I have Cocoa leather and get many compliments on how rich it looks with white. I could not be happier with my choice of Carrara White. If you do get white, be prepared for a lot of admiring stares.

    All:

    Thank you very much for the insight and suggestions. Much appreciated. Leaning back to GT Silver as I cannot seem to let go of the classic factory color look and how it will age over time. Having said that I also understand White to be one of the classic factory colors. At the end of the day I have to realize I guess that it is a color decision and nothing more!

    White looks great on all modern Porsches, I like with Terracotta personally.

    I think a white C4S looks great with the red stripe across the back and with red calipers at the wheels. Porsche web site showing new Boxster in White with Black interior. Looks great in photos. My first choice would be be black interior, silver seat belts, aluminum look gear shift and brake lever for extra splash against the black.

    I must say Cocoa pics from Journeyman also looks very good. You can not go wrong with either choice. Good luck
