Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

Yup Had my car for about a year now and I can honestly say I'm still in love with it - maybe even more so! The driving experience the turbo gives is just awesome, fuel economy is outstanding. People are stunned when I tell them its only a v6! Its built like a tank. Its horsepower is basically gonna beat anything out on the road( i live in vancouver) and styling well sometimes I think it looks awesome and sometimes I catch a angle which isnt so pleasing but everytime I finish a drive I look back at the car and it gets better looking just for its personality! Also the styling is modern yet classic which is cool because in 5-10 years should I decide to keep my car for that long it will still have a very cool look to it. Im wondering if the audi r8 can do the same!

I like my service at MCL porsche vancouver, I am very happy with my mods that I put into the car(highly reccommend suspension and exhuast mods) And I look forward to going anywhere in the turbo infact I think its sometimes the highlight of the trip! It fits four people which is super useful when you gota cram girls in the back of the car. Its also such a great car for the fact its very mod friendly and reliabilty is superb. I use to read tons of articles on cars and such but I dont even go to chapters no more cause no car really interests me, I got the best one for my budget.

Sorry for the long rant but today I got a full day off and my turbo is sitting there in my garage. Its sunny and begging to be drived. its a good day!

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

Panda man I can relate. Mine just turned one year and it does not even have 2K miles on it. I have four cars and I take the train to work so that explains the low miles. I love this car and I will most likely keep it. I love the Audi R8 but I think the R8 look will be outdated before the 997TT does the same. The 997TT with the GT-1 engine is destined to be a classic

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

In the future, be sure to tell them it's a boxer 6, not a v6.

Great to hear that you're still loving it.

    Hey PandaMan,

I'm in Vancouver and you haven't beaten me yet...

Agree with you that the 997TT is the best daily sport cars. Too bad Porsche makes too many of them so it doesn't hold value as good as GT3.

Rear seats are OK up to about 10 years old.

I can tell you this in Southern CA there are a few used GT3 and not that many used TT's. The TT holds it's value better here as it's more in demand. I am not making this up, I am merely repeating what the dealer told me.

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

I have had my Turbo Cab now for a full ten days and I can tell you all it's a definite keeper for the long run. I am about to complete the break in period...yes, in 6 days my wife and I drove it for more than 1940 miles packed with a lot of fun, blue skies and discoveries of amazing landscapes in upstate NY. It feels like we have already had it for a year and I can only imagine that it is getting even better after we hit the 2000 and can rev it higher....will never go back to anything else....just loving it!

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

mine is now over 2 years old and it still looks and drives like new, only the 30k miles on the odometer gives it away.
This car is extremely well screwed together and even in modded form can take a lot of "abuse", definitely a keeper

You might have one of the higest mileage modded cars - that's great to hear! No issues?

I am pretty sure I have one of the highest mileage modded TT, stage 2 (ecu/exhaust) was done 25k miles ago and the turbo upgrade 5k miles ago and no glitch whatsoever.
I also think the paint is better than other P cars (owned cayenne and boxster before), I do not have 3M or similar and my hood has exactly 2 small chips that you can barley see, I need a new spoiler lip and a windshield though (all pitted).
    maybe I am just lucky

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

heres a recent pic I took.

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

    another...

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

    one last one...

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

    She's sweeeet!

Did you have the OEM front fascia modded to accommodate the GT3/2 venting? What type wheels?

    More photos please.

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

Yup had that modded. The wheels are Zone 9.

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

Had my Turbo for about a year and did not love it. Have had my GT3 about a year and I love it however. Next car will be GT3RS if i can get my hands on one. Really the Turbo and the GT3 are knockout killer cars.

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

    one more...

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still lovin

You should photoshop this and get rid of the sidewalk street and crap on the sidewalk. Just have it "floating"

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

Nice seats. Tell me more about the wheels, weights, etc...

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

Thanks the seats I had done recently in alacantra to match my techart steering wheel, I had other parts wrapped in the stuff as well. The stock gt3 in leather looked outta place but now it looks perfect.

As for the wheels I know there pretty light weight for a 20" 3 piece. And not much heavier then stock. Im use to the ride quality now but there defintely not as agile as 19"s. I get tons of compliments on them and personally I think I made the right choice.

Re: Had my Turbo for almost 1 year and still loving it

Really? Did you get any suspension done? After I did mine it really transformed the beast as well as exhaust.

GT3 was my 1st choice as well but somehow I ended up with a turbo. I actually think I made the wise choice since it fits four people when the emergency arrives, and the power of the the turbo is quite insane. Ive only tracked once and it was fun but my car is more for street. I think a modded Turbo is the best compromise between a turbo and the GT3.
