    New Toy - BMW 330i

Here is my new toy that I purchased recently. I've done quite a bit to it in aftermarket mods. This car handles like a slot-car! I can't believe it's a four-door. I can't wait to get it out on the track (end of August at New Jersey Motorsports Park - Thunderbolt Raceway with BMWCCA).

    Here's the list:
Sport package, Lux, JIC Cross Coil-Overs, UUC Sways, 18" Advan RS, Goodyear Asymmetrics 245-35f/265-35r, Custom Alcantara M-tech steering wheel, Alcantara shift and e-brake boots, Alcantara shift knob, BMW Aluminum pedals, ipod adapter, euro switch, Rogue shifter
Coming soon: M-tech front, BIG brakes

Thank you all. Yes, I already have the M-Tech front facia that will be painted and installed the end of the month. I also have an E90 M3 rear spoiler (very small lip) and I'm getting rid of the chrome around the windows and changing them to black. Then I'm finished once I get the big-brakes (either Stoptech or Brembo).

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

Very nice and a lot more affordable than an M3

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

    I can't say i'm a big fan of the new Bimmer's design.
    But yours looks just great!

    Congrats!

    Thank you.

    I'm going for a clean/aggressive look. I don't like bling at all.
My wheels weigh only 17.8lbs front and 18.5lbs rear. I lost 12 lbs. per corner with the new wheels and loosing the runflats! I'm into performance enhancers rather than the bling chrome thing and 20" wheels. Track days are calling.

It's really odd, but the entire car looks smaller since I've lowered it with the coil-overs.

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

    Nice.

12lbs per corner - Wow! Runflats I'm sure were at least 1/2 this. They're pretty heavy.

I can't say I'm in love with the wheel color. Maybe with a little silver on the lip would break up the black hole look (on the brighter side, brake dust build-up will never be much a concern for you )

Why didn't you go for the 335? It has almost as much power as the old M3. A chip, filter, exhaust and BANG - you've got more than the old M3 (kinda scary if you think about it)

Congratulations on that purchase! Promising appearance. In fact your modifications make the car so attractive you won't need any "bling items" at all. Furthermore, you get improved performance on top of that.

The runflats aren't that heavy actually. The early gen runflats were like lead ballons. My wheels were the vast majority of the weight loss.

As for the 335, I would have liked it, but I'm more of a N/A guy. I like the purity of the engine without any additives. Plus, I actually get 30 mpg on the highway with my car and average over 25 mpg in mixed driving is an added incentive. The 335 is lucky to break 25 on the highway.

The wheel color in real life stands out more. They're actually dark gun metallic (Advan's name for the color). It gives the car a sinister look.

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

Absolutely right on the run-flats...today the difference between the two is usually about 1 to 2 lbs.

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

    Updated pics:

I put on the M-tech front end, changed the chrome window trim to black, changed all emblems to black and white carbon fiber and added an M3 rear spoiler.

I ordered a set of Stoptech brakes today. 355mm 6-piston fronts and 345mm 4-piston rears. I can't wait to get out on the track (Thunderbolt at New Jersey Motorsports Park in late August).

Well done! Looks so much better with that M-Front!

    Enjoy it every day!

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

Updates: Added Stoptech 6-piston, 355mm fronts and 4-piston, 345mm rears.

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

Love the front, i have the same car and have a pretty bad highway rock chip in mine. How is the fit/finish of the M-tech front?

The fit was perfect. There were no modifications needed because it's a BMW part.

Re: New Toy - BMW 330i

    I just love your car.

    though i hate bimmers
