So you'll push on the paddle to downshift, but pull on the shift stick to downshift.

Yup. Funny fact that, by doing what they did, Porsche left the aftermarket wide open for "anything that works for you."
If they were SMART they would have developed it so it's like reprogramble mouse buttons!
