I came away from it realising that apart from much greater power it was an inferior drive to my Boxster S - and by a big margin.
That trick roof adds far too much weight.

The car was too new and using the launch control puts a lot of stress onto the engine, drivertrain, etc.. I actually used launch control only once, it was an interesting experience but you can actually achieve a similar goal without destroying the car by simply switching to the sportiest setting(s), turning off DSC(not necessary but can help) and fully pressing the throttle. Especially with the new DKG software update, the fun has increased since it is much easier to start off from a stoplight without burning half of your rear rubber into the asphalt.
I actually like driving my wife's M3 Cab DKG a lot but I don't like the added weight due to the roof, it really makes the M3 Cab more a GT than a sportscar.
Have I also mentioned that with the DKG update, apparently fuel consumption has dropped a lot too? Before the update, I got an average of around 20(!) litres/100 km. Now it is "only" 18 litres/100 km, pretty impressive change. The auto mode surprisingly seems to consume even one litre less, "only" 17 litres/100km.
