Most probably shown in spring 2009.
Introduction to dealers, press early summer.
Gradual market launch from July or September to end of 2009.

Hmm, guess nobody is too worried about the looks of the front. It seems that the rear side of the cars is what gets most people worrysome. It seems to be very hard to judge the shape right, and all the cammo makes it look like a giant floating potato. Really curious what it will look like in real life.

Exactly, best description yet of ALL the mules. Still the same old fugly mule, it does not look - better, purposeful, or porsche-like. I will wait to see if RC knows what he is talking about re the panamera.

Well before the Cayenne was unveiled it looked hideous and many said just wait....however when the camo came off guess what? It was and is still - hideous. Seems like Porsche has not learned anything and we're in for the same thing with the Panamera. Just my two cents.

Come on guys no Porsche in history can be called beautiful in the strict sense of the word.
Think of most models from 356 to 911 to 924/944, 928,959 etc.
The strong point of the Porsche style is that they look purposeful, solid and they grow on you and look good even after many years.
Many Mercedes and BMW are the opposite. They look catchy at first but soon become boring.

Sorry, that's not the way it works. Some people convince themselves to like a bad design cause it's not so shockingly bad over time and others because they are fanboys of the marque.
928 is beautiful in person and draws a crowd and compliments. That's why I own 1. Happened first time I saw it in early 80's.
550, 917, CGT in the right color, many different models of the 911 over the years are beautiful cars.
959, cayenne, and this mule are just butt ugly, [beep] poor designs. Cayenne in GTS form is vastly improved but still not what Porsche is capable of.
High point of auto design was 1930's.

The cayenne may not be the most attractive SUV out there, but it was and is very successful and the spy pics and renderings of the next generation suggest Porsche made the right changes to make the 2nd edition look pleasing and the panamera will be successful too no doubt, even if they have fecked up the rear a bit for this first model.
