The new facelift will be launched in Jan '09. This is merely the same Cayman S and some useless additions to git rid of the extra parts in the bin.

It costs Porsche nothing to produce these cars, and given the exorbitant price of the options, the LEs offer good value if Porsche happens to hit your particular button. Frankly I don't see the LE offerings as devaluing or elevating the marque. It is a take it or leave it proposition, and certainly not angst worthy.

These editions are also a way to end a lineup with a bang as opposed to a whimper... and arguably get some more people's attention so that they pay attention to the facelift that will follow. Which means the facelift has to follow fairly quickly, otherwise people really will lose the attention span.

Where did you get that info from? If it's true than it's actually very sad to see that the car doesn't seem to have any individual note other than a few easily available Exclusive options. The RS60 and DesignEdition 1 have featured their own style, if not on the technical side at least on the aesthetical.

The Cayman S sport has been advertised in this months EVO magazine. Details in the other thread. THey may not have released any info onthe web but adverts are out there in the printed press

hmmm, could be an "UK only" model? I remember back in 2000 something when the dutch importer made up a special options package for people who bought their car at the dutch autoshow (RAI), the so-called Carrera "R". There wasn't any about that in the official press pages either.
