Well, Lotus has always been a chassis-only builder, they never had an engine of their own. I bet the Toyota engines come into play because they are ultra-reliable and also cheap, since they are made in such large numbers. The same can also be said for Ford. It's a shame the Lotus doesn't have a Cosworth engine, it would instantly be more attractive. Even if Cosworth is now owned by Audi, I think.
I have to say, though, that the only time I drove a Lotus was an Elise with the stronger version of the 1,8 Rover engine and I didn't have a reason to complain.
I also wrote somewhere else that the Evora should have at least 300 hp from a 3,5 liter unit. 280 is a very plain Jane number. Just look at the pictures. It's supposed to be a junior supercar. How can you park that next to a stupid-in-comparison car like the 135i and have less power?

... if you're looking for a used Elise and the clearances (between the body parts) are even.....don't buy it: it must be a car which has suffered an accident....they don't come from the factory like this

What is this all about? Just wasted minutes of my life watching a black screen with numbers rising from 0 to 36 which is when I gave up!

The last pictures are really good. The car keeps growing on me. Not yet enough to buy though. I will wait to test-drive, see fit and finish and who knows. One thing is certain. If finish is ok I would much prefer it over a Cayman.
Of all the names starting with an E they chose this one.
It's a shame but it would not stop me from buying one.
