    I've read that the 2010 Taureg will be two inches longer to accommodate extra (occasional) seats in the boot.

    Do u think the cayenne looks any longer ?

    This one starts to look quite nice, as about the size I'm expecting it to be even bigger than the actual one! It seems that for the sake of marketing it is never good to say that the new model is smaller than the one it replaces.

    The new cayenne is rumored to be smaller than the current cayenne! The environmentalsts lobby is getting strong; "green" is all what engineers/marketeers have on their minds nowadays.

    Tha cayenne looks a zillion times better thant the actual one.

    great job porsche.

    just makes me wondr why the panamera looks so dull (with lots of camo but still).

    From the spy pics and in spite of the extra camouflage it definitely looks more compact.

    I suspect it won't be based on the Touareg but on the smaller Q5 platform. At the time of the current Cayenne's development there wasn't any other SUV in the VW Group.

    Would make sense. Is the Q5 based on the same platform as the VW tiguan or so? Cause I think the Cayenne is supposed to share platforms with both audi and VW, isn't it?

    Tiguan-Medium
    Q5-large
    Touareg-X large
    Q7-XXL

    They are thinking of a small size below Tiguan according to some reports in magazines.

    My wife has Tiguan and it is not biger (longer) than Golf , probbably it's made on Golf V platform (same engine and drive mechanism)
    This new Cayenne seams to be on exsissting Cayenne platform (what else ??) if you measure how many wheels (21") will fit bumper to bumper on both pics. result is appx. 8 +/- Taking wheel as 'etalon' we can check any other part of body (doors , windows etc) and proportions are on the dot . This two Cayennes are few cm. apart.

    OK, thanks for the insights. I thought the new cayenne looked way different from the current one, untill you posted those pics... I can only spot some small differences in panel shapes, but the overall shape seems to be the same.

    Not entirely applicable to this case. Porsche is a sport manufacturer and the current Cayenne is more designated for offroad driving which is quite contrary to what Porsche is about. Therefor it makes sense to develop a more road focused Cayenne that will act as a Panamera estate/touring.

    FYI: Tiguan is based on a Touran (85% in common) which is itself derived from the current Golf .... hence "similar" proportions.
