And $198K for the AWD V8TT. That car better be a beast or it will attract few buyers....

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

Thanks Ron, BUT I doubt it is accurate. the "official" guidance is a premium to the BMW 7 series, MB S Class and Audi A8. Porsche is also saying it should be priced close to the 911 lineup.

I therefore suspect the journalist has translated the price in Euro into US$ at the current rate.

V6 version at Euro 80k (with or without sales tax?) sounds about right.

I doubt the V6 will come first. I suspect V8 and V8 TT will come first and then V6 + Hybrid.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

I suspect it wil be priced as the Cayenne is positioned relative to its german rivals from audi m-b and bmw.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

I agree 80k Euro for an V6 sounds right to me. Thats comparable to the Seven and S-Class.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

    CLS 63 is $95K with 510 HP

Building a large sedan with a V6 is a joke

Engine line-up should be V8, CGT V10, and a water-cooled version of the 917 12 cyl. Those engines inside the porsche sketch could sell for the prices mentioned here if they had the interior quality to match.

With worldwide exemption from any post -1970 tail pipe emissions standards , right ?!

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

hope they arent planning on this lexus with turbo front saving the ship....v6, what are they thinking ...$200,000.00

Yes, that is my thinking exactly. US prices are MUCH lower than what one would calculate by converting the price in Euros or UK Pounds...

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

guys the panamera will be amazing!

Exactly...I just checked the German and US configurators and the new base 911 coupe in the US is $73,500 and in Germany is 83,000 Euros.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

Porsche charging Ferrari price. Good luck with that.

    $127k for a V6.

Right, which means that the Panamera will start at about $70k for a V6 model, not $127k.

Turbo V8 AWD will be around $110k.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

V6 65k. Why would the TT cost de same than Cayenne TT, and the V6 20k more?

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

Good to see info starting to filter out, can't wait to see the final product - hopefully the mules have really good camoflauge - it looks like a piggy...

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

the absence of 2-door mules so far makes me doubt Porsche is coming with a 2-door coupe version?

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

A V8 Panamera selling above US$100k will not sell in large numbers.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

Yeah these stupid auto bloggers never seen to learn. Inspite making the mistake several times they repeat it by conversting euro prices in to dollar believing that's the sum Porsche will charge in the US.

Euro priced were leaked last week. 80k for base model V6 and 125k for the top of the line.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

    Why???!!

    Cayenne V6 45k
    Cayenne Turbo 100k

    Panamera V6 80k
    Panamera Turbo 125k

    ?!

    No sense

I think the V8 will be well under $100k, but the V8 Turbo AWD will be over $100k...

The Cayenne V6 is 52500 EUR in Germany, incl VAT.
This car is pretty much NAKED.

Here are the rumoured Panamera BASE prices incl. german VAT, they aren't accurate but may be a good indication of what is coming.

    Panamera V6: 60000 EUR
    Panamera V8: 75000 EUR
    Panamera V8 TT: 115000 EUR

Again, just "play figures", nothing real. Don't expect a bargain though. The rumoured 160-180000 EUR figure was for the TOP MODEL, a possible Panamera V10 Turbo(!) with something close to 700 HP and 4WD.

Porsche expects to "catch" a lot of S-class and especially BMW 7-series customers but also Audi A8 customers.
Of course they also count in various Cayenne owners who may want to switch from "Off-Road" to "Street".
There was also a rumour at a time that Porsche will offer a V6 TT instead of a NA V6 but all I can say is that the Panamera V6 will have a 3 in front of the power figure, the V8 may even get a 4.

The Panamera is rumoured to be pretty heavy, I wouldn't expect a weight of under 1.8 tons for the V6 base car, the top model will very likely exceed 2 tons.
    Again: just "rumours".

But weren't there also some rumours about Panamera's special lightweight contruction?

After the Cayenne, I don't expect anything "lightweight" from Porsche except their "real" sports cars.

Thats interesting... RC do you think that the Panamera will have a higher "social acceptance" rating in Germany at the moment than Cayenne (despite not much better economy)? If so, Pan sales would partly just offset declining Cayenne sales... lots of unknowns...

BTW is Panamera officially confirmed as the final name? Or could they surprise people with something like Evora??

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

The higher performance models will surely caputure the Merc S63/65 AMG - BMW 760 / Audi S8 crowd.

Yes, my hope is that with the Panamera sedan and coupe (ala 928) that they will be able to make the 991 (next 911) even sportier, smaller, and lighter than the 997, since they'll have the luxury market well represented already

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

Clearly, PAG will market the Panamera lineup for the USA in $ amounts well below the translated exchange rate. For me, the sheer size and weight of the vehicles, especially the AWD turbo (V8 and V10?) variants (important for me for winter traction plus my power addiction), causes serious pause to say the least. Glad I have the Audi RS4 for the family sedan/winter driving. The RS4 is heavy enough (just under 4,000 pounds at 3,980), so to think of more than 500 pounds more plus a longer wheelbase in the Panamera, even with 700HP, it will drive like a 747.

    Re: Panamera starts at 127k

But Al look at the potential, you can put 4 turbo chargers and 2 superchargers and get like 1500hp out of it .

I hope so too. Maybe only sportier styling though, because the mule already has wider tracks than the 997 so it's likely to be bigger :

    http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-new-...rst-spy-photos/

But if it finally is constructed from aluminium, and assuming the engine does not get heavier, there's a chance it will be lighter..
