. Is that really something you recognize that much as a daily or weekend driver...? I cannot recall a 911 who had not been better or improved than the presuccessor.

The problem is that they're taking a proven design and chucking it into teh bin. Instead, they'll be using a cheaper design, which has absolutely nothing in common with racing. Porsches (the ones with the GT1 block) have a reputation of being bulletproof. I don't think this will be the case with the new block.

Yep makes sense....on the other hand there a some design contras against the GT1...like DFI or emission...

The DFI could have been made to work with the GT1 blovk as well. A Porsche engineer conceded that. It's just about money.

Did you read some reports by RC here as well?
I do not want to go in-depth here:
-new DFI engine more network like connected to PDK/PASM/PTM setup
-PDK torque limit 700Nm
-new exhaust system and cats with different layout
-some software and hardware limitations implemented by Porsche

You can see what they are trying to do in this comp photo. They are trying to tie the visual components of the rear together. Bigger exhaust tips to match rehaped tail lights; and more... .
IMO, the effect is to make the wing look a little more droopy and more prominent. Bad news if you "hate" the wing.

I dont recall anyone compaining about the rear view mirrors, you? Mine are just fine, why in the world would they give it dumbo ears?
Still cant stand the rear lights, imo they're just terrible. Change for the sake of change is usually never a good thing. Obviously bigger exhaust tips which mean bigger exhaust openings. You think they just want to [beep] off the after-market folks? I mean obviously all the current after-market exhaust tips designs will have to be completely re-tooled & made bigger. Imagine how big the Fabspeed tips are going to be, like bazooka's!

Rear view exterior mirrors are the big because of EU regulations. So, in that regard blame EU...
