    TOOKI and Dension

    Wondering if anyone knows if the TOOKI Bluetooth solution and the Denison IPOD interface can with each other...

    I have read many of the posts and would not mind going to Denison for Bluetooth and IPOD but as part of the deal I made with the dealer when I bought my car they are going to be installing the TOOKI unit for me before delivery.

    I like the fact that I can plug in an IPOD, USB or AUX in the Denison unit and for the most part have heard good things about both units..

    Was just wondering if I can have both installed or if anyone that has this setup would recommend it.

    I have both. Dension works great with the iPod and Tooki works great with my Blackberry Curve via BT. I think that you may run into issues if you try using the Tooki with Windows Mobile phones.

    Thanks Atomic, good to know...I have a Blackberry now but was planning on changing phones soon...will stay away from windows mobile.

    Make sure to get the Blackberry software updates to ensure maximum compatibility.

    Eric, you're referring to the BTA1000 accessory? Don't you need to switch to CDC mode to take calls with that one?

    BTA1000 was pulled off the market months ago.

    I don't care about the ipod integration so can the BTA 1500 be used stand alone for bluetooth as the Tooki can.

    Yep, says so on their order page:
    "You must have the Dension Gateway 500 iPod integration main unit (on our Order page) in order to use the BTA1500."

    However, I'm getting the Gateway anyway because of the USB and AUX connections..

    Hmm.. now I also found the mObridge Bluetooth product. It has good integration with PCM and has an AUX-cable as well. Since I don't really need the iPod stuff, why should I get the Dension products?

    Now I have three products to choose between, so far the list is:

    1. mObridge Bluetooth (~$850)
    2. Dension Gateway 500 + Bluetooth (~$750)
    3. Nav-TV Tooki (~$750)

    Any ideas or comments? Having a hard time to choose...

    Dension has Aux in as well. And USB port for firmware updating in just seconds. Can't comment on mObridge since it has not appeared yet, or just appeared in the last month or two. Dension has been out for almost 19 months, so we have a huge installed base and plenty of experience with it.

    Dension + BT will give you all the features you may need now and into the near future, for about the lowest price and easiest use.

    Not sure what else I can add.

    Planning on the new iPhone and car coming in about 3 wks, in the new Dennison the way to go and skip the Tooki?

    Any reccomended installers in Minnesota?

    Dealer is contracting the install out to someone else and they are charging me $1000 for just the denison and install..This seemed kind of high to me so i asked him to give me a seperate price for the install and he said he would not install it if i got the unit somewhere else...

    Anyone have any ideas on how much this should cost to install?...(he is also installing the tooki but that is on the dealers dime)

    That is ridiculous. Email me for more info on installation and guidance.

    zman - email me as well. Def Dension w/BTA. Dension raised pricing last month, and though we're holding on, we may have to lift prices just a hair very soon. But I'm in a deal-making mood for those who want both pieces of the puzzle.
