    Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

Could a euro GT3 owner be kind enough to check if he (she ?) has the same part numbers on the manifold and mufflers ? I am trying to figure whether the exhaust system of my US car is the same or *could* be different as Porsche Swizterland claims.

    Very much appreciated.

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

A little up to see if someone with a euro GT3 is willing to help and take a look at their muffler and exhaust manifold. Both plates are visible underneath the car, these pics have been taken with my car on its wheels. Thanks !

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

What has been your experience importing a US car to Switzerland if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

Hi zeshark, haven't been able to check exhaust for you, but if its a power thing you are worried about Porsche quotes the same for Euro & US cars....
    997 GT3 07 997S7 90061>92000 M97.76 415/305
    997 GT3 (USA CDN MEX BR)07 997S7 92061>93000 M97.76 415/305

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

@gw2009: can't tell you yet, haven't moved back to Switzerland but on paper, it looks pretty smooth, mostly because I am relocating, which eases lots of things (customs, Porsche, insurrance)
@porkernut: not a power concern at all, it's all about regulatory compliance. Porsche Switzerland says they might have to change the exhaust, but they are not sure. So I am trying to figure out if the part numbers are different or not.

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

Will try to see on my brother's car.

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

zeshark, getting a web post from a fellow Porsche nut won't satisfy the authorities, you will need official Porsche data & here it is for the GT3

    1: USA
    https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinfo/pdf/en-us/catalogues/997T_USA_KATALOG.pdf
    2: UK
    https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinfo/pdf/en/catalogues/E_GT3_2_KATALOG.pdf

Scroll down to exhaust section for all the part numbers to compare, there isn't a Swiss link, only German, but I chose Uk as its english.
    Hope this helps

The USA link is for the TT. Based on the UK link for the GT3 it looks like the cats might be the same part number but the muffler has a different number in the PET than shown in the picture.

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

here what i have on my car been imported from germany.

    997/91. 997.11.027.90 KW 25/07
    Made in Germany PTT

    997/91 E/J 3010
    997.113.022.91 KW 27/07
    Made in Germany PTT

it does look almost similar to yours. Hope that could help you.

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

zeshark, sorry more haste less speed, here is the corrected link!

    1: USA
    https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinfo/pdf/en-us/catalogues/GT3_2_USA_KATALOG.pdf
    2: UK
    https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinfo/pdf/en/catalogues/E_GT3_2_KATALOG.pdf

Scroll down to exhaust section for all the part numbers to compare, there isn't a Swiss link, only German, but I chose Uk as its english.
Hope this helps as both parts numbers are listed with the same number I think they are identical!

If there are any differences in the cars to allow for differing legal requirements (exhaust gas emissions) then they would most likely be in the catalytic converter spec or engine control software.
I think your safest course of action would be to check with Swiss authorities responsible for "approving" your car for road use, and ask them for their specific criteria and requirements. Get it in writing, preferably.

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

    THANKS for your answers.
@Cram: i assume that some of the different digits are date/lot codes, but your 997/91 vs my 997/94 on the muffler is surprising. Excellent color choice btw ;-)

@Fritz: the car will be deemed road legal by Porsche of Switzerland themselves (formerly AMAG), not trying to do that myself. They will issue the emissions and reg certificates, they have a standard fee/service for that. All I am trying to assess is the likelihood of a change in the exhaust system as they said it *may* be the case. Can't be the cats though, would be more expensive that what they were talking about.

@porkernut: I could not access the PDFs myself, I just registered to techinfo and will try to get them myself but my browser errors out. If you could send them to me via email, much appreciated !

Re: Euro 997 GT3 exhaust PN

Oops, finally managed to open the files. On that basis, it seems that the Euro and US cars have the same PNs for the cats, primary mufflers and central muffler. Not too sure what they were talking about then, guess I'll find out soon enough !

In that case it is the same part. The digits following the "KW" are most probably the build date, it refers to the calendar week (Kalender Woche) these parts have been produced. Somewhere between 25th and 27th week of 2007.
