    Discounts on newly ordered facelift cars

    Now that pricing details have been released and a few of you appear to have locked in your orders, what sort of discount have you been able to obtain as a percentage off of MSRP . . . if you don't mind my asking?

    As you see my, prediction was correct all along. While many in this forum were predicting large price increases in the US, we got the usual ones, as I predicted. Regarding discounts, I do not expect discounts any time soon. There will be discounts in early 09, after the initial wave of Mk2 sales.

    I'm sure we will be able to get 5% here in Belgium. Like last year when i bought a 987.

    You can always squeeze off a few grand, 100k cars don't fly off the shelves.

    Interesting! I would not expect that in that market - maybe P-cars are not selling so well theses days even in a hot market.

    Zero discounts in Japan. The dealer may throw in free car coating and a key chain. or give you max value for a trade in but generally zero discount on brand new cars.

    No offense, but I live in a far larger market being in Orange County. Walters Porsche already agreed to give 5% without me even pushing. It might help that I have 6+ Porsche dealerships in a 25 mile radius.

    A dealer might throw in floor mats. A driving day is already included in the price (UK).

    No discounts in UK on new cars - Porsche policy. As they now own most of the dealers, it's getting harder to get them to load tha part-ex as well.

    Not having a good time in the UK though, so things may change.....

    I have previously purchased from two UK dealers in the past. Both are pushing hard for a new fl sale. its not the discount thats the problem, its the ridiculous trade in value. lost more money on my last p car than any other. sorry Porsche, not this time. I will hang on to my Mk 1

    I have been offered 5% in Japan. Might be able to get some more if I get serious. They really want to get me into one.

    O disconts in Hong Kong, maybe we only have one dealer here, actually is lucky if you can get any car within 6 months time.

    If they want me to swap my C2S for anew one any time soon they will have to increase the insulting trade in value or discount the new one. (UK)

    I have bought 3 new cars from my dealer which made no difference whatsoever. Interestingly the (inferior IMHO) Maserati Coupe which I passed on last time is worth more at the same age than my so called 'safe' 911.

    I think discounts will be around quite soon.

    John, as per my previous post, i can only agree with you. The low trade in numbers are really testing customer loyalty and for the first time in four purchases i am considering leaving the brand (or looking at import)

    Buying a car these days without discount is mad. These cars are a commodity these days. take your spec and have dealers bid on the car. I am sure you will get 3-5% if not more...times are changing fast

    thats exactly what i was thinking of doing. here in uk i expect economy to get really bad over coming months, and as someone once said "its very rare that there isnt a deal to be done"

    In the USA, paying MSRP for a Porsche is stupid.
    There are so many dealers - 5% off is the MINUMUM.

    You will not get a discount in the UK - if desperate they may inflate your trade in a little but no discount from MRRP. Demand still exceeds supply for new cars - nearly new - different story - deals to be done!!

    Isn't the mark up about 9-10%? So, a 4-5% discount seems fair.

    Thats really interesting Mex99. I have previously purchased from two dealers and both are chasing me for new car orders. By their own admission sales are slow.
