sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

planning to order a 997.2 but sme questions prior to it:

    - I am planning to order sand beige interior in an aqua blue or meteor grey. do you think it will bi annoying to have reflection on the windshield under sunlight due to light color? another option would be bi-color sand-beige black which i am not willing to pay that much extra.

-Does anybody know if dvb receiver and sat-nav module and hard disk can be retrofitted after buying th car. I may have them installed later on but not with the order.

    Thanks

Yes, you will get a reflection in the windscreen.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

It's not a big deal. And if you wear polarized sunglasses, you won't see it at all.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

You can order the two-tone interior of Beige and Black - the Black goes up top and will help with reflections...

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

yup, there is a bit of glare. i have it in my turbo with terracotta. especially when it's very bright.

    but nothing annoying really...

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

I would be irritated by it, and I would definitely get the two tone interior. It also looks sharper.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

My C2S cab is a sand beige interior, i dont find it annoying at all.

the reflection maybe a bit more catchy when i drive under heavy sun light when the top is down.

    overall its all fine

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

    Option: 24921
    Upper Dash in Deviating Color
Dashboard upper section and passenger airbag standard leather in deviating
    color.
    $470

    Make it Black

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

that's what I was looking for, didn't want to mess up with the smooth leather bi-color option which I have nothing to do with the smoothness and the price tag.

any pictures of how it looks like, or does it look just the same as bi-color smooth leather option except standard leather?

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

    i wouldn't take a beige colour.

you don't know how hard it is to keep this interior colour clean. You can see the least of spots on it, it is pure horror to keep it clean.
This advice comes from me and many of my friends who suffer from this and wished they never took a beige interior on their new car.

    Beige is easy to clean

You can see when it gets dirty and clean it with a damp cloth before it gets bad. Unlike black which is difficult because it's harder to see when it's dirty.

My plan is to get natural brown leather on my next car.

I would anticipate your being able to order those for installation later. Much like you can on today's 997s.

I had beige interior for 18 months and 8000 miles. Looked spotless when I got rid of the car. If you're just driving the car, and not carting dogs, or cooking inside, it's not hard to keep clean. In fact, I did nothing and it was spotless.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

I had sand beige, and I can tell you that the reflection in the windscreen was very significant, to the point that I would never order this option again. Very distracting.

Two tone is the only way forward.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

Here is a sample of what it will look like on a very hot bright day (made somewhat worse due to angle and camera). You cannot see the reflection with polarized sunglasses on.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

Get the full beige - black and beige kind of looks poorly done to me.
My car is three years old and it is still pretty clean!

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

How's the crime in your parts of Turkey?

I'd be wary of a bright interior because it just highlights stuff you leave locked in the parked car for thieves. Just put stuff in the trunk? Then the thieves see you put stuff from the car and into the trunk so the trunk becomes a target.

IOW, if you have a black interior you can maybe get away with leaving darker items in the car.

    Black is best. IM_H_O

Just leave an empty gun holster in the passenger seat.

Re: sand beige reflection on windscreen 997.2

I think Turkey is safer most of the US isn't it?

    Absolutely

Crime stats in US are very poor - look at the murder rate. Live in Newark or parts of SoCal and you have a lower life expectancy than going to fight in Iraq. And since the Supreme Court has basically confirmed that every f*ckwit in the country can own a gun it will only get worse. But hey, that's a small price for freedom isn't it?

    Re: Absolutely

well it differs. you wouldn't want to park a fancy car in a more ghetto part for sure, at least to prevent scratches on the paintwork. But as an Ankara citizen I would say here is a lot safer than any other metro-spots around the world I've been to.

    Re: Absolutely

too bad we don't have the options

24921 Upper Dash in Deviating Color
26061 Steering Wheel Standard Leather Deviating Color

in Europe like they do in the US.

    two tone costs a lot.
