So, exactly how slow are non-LED tail lights? Is that really a big safety benefit (besides the added brightness)? I would guess that in the chain of events leading up to getting rear-ended by an SUV, the time it takes for the incandescent bulbs to light up is a fairly small contributor, but I don't really know.

hahaha, you have a vaild point.. i've noticed that too. Porsche spend time making its little site. If you wants new porsche vidz go to porsche.com not youtube!

Something like 10 ft. earlier at 60 mph.

Yep, that's what they said on one article 10 feet less traveled due to shorter reaction time. This probably makes sense on paper, but it doesn't pass the sniff test. I can't believe that the different in time to light an LED vs a bulb will make any practical difference in safety. The real benefits are reliability and zero service, but I'm sure they pointed out the safety "benefit" to help fill the lengthy marketing collateral. Hey, at least the lights look cool
