    Audi S4 saloon and Avant spy photos - no camo

    Kreso: Do you know when the press release for the new S4 is, when can we see official info and pics?

    Although the engine is smaller, don't expect Audi to give an inch in the power wars - the forced-induction V6 will generate at least 350bhp and 406lb ft, more than matching the old S4's 340bhp output and ahead of BMW's 335i (306bhp/295lb ft) and the Mercedes C350 (268bhp/258lb ft). Expect a five second blast to 60mph and a limited 155mph top speed. Of course, the S4 will feature Audi's four-season quattro drivetrain.

    And we hear that the RS4's superb V8 will be dropped in favour of a more heavily tuned version of the blown V6 when it arrives in 2009. Pity...

    There will be a lot of new Audi's this autumn:

    R8 V10
    S4
    A5 Cabrio
    TTR(maybe...)

    Regarding R8 V10, S4 and A5 Cabrio... Cars are ready, pictures for press releases are taken.... So, more or less all should be introduced during the summer(BUT, official intro and sales in autumn in S4 case or early winter for R8 V10 and A5 cabrio)...

    It looks like an A4 TDI with the S-Line package.

    Sorry, I'm planning about the RS5... which should come out before your RS4

    But surely Audi will re-visit their one-at-a-time policy for RS models... too much lost sales opportunities by keeping to this arrangement. In which case we might have both cars at the same time in 2010-ish.

    They can't really keep their 1-model policy for ever. After all, it all began with a single RS model, then two and now you will have three. No way to adapt this to one-at-a-time without LOSING sales.

    Just to clear things up little bit...

    quattro Gmbh models in current line up are:

    R8
    RS6 Avant

    In autumn are coming:

    RS6 Saloon
    R8 V10
    Q7 V12 TDI(YES, this is quattro Gmbh model!)

    In 2009 there may be TTR.

    In 2010 new RS5 will be introduced.

    RS4? Late 2010 in best case scenario as MY2011 model.

    Kreso, will the V12 TDI be available in the new A8? I remember you saying something about Audi not even offering a high-powered gasoline engine for teh new A8.

    A8 D4 will start with new 4.2FSI with Valve lift and about 380ps.

    Later there will be V6 gasoline and diesel engines as well as V8 diesel.

    V12 TDI? Chances are 50/50...

    Thanks Kreso - and those are Audi continental plans. Over the ocean here the last RS4 was imported by AudiNA, but not the current RS6. Our dealers are now saying that they "have no idea" if the RS5 will be imported, since Audi HQ are obviously making market decisions about which regions will receive their RS cars.

    But my feeling is that the RS5, as a coupe, will sell well in NA; the RS6, at least in Avant form, suffers from the "station wagon" curse over here which may be one reason why Audi decided not to sell here.
