MB Gullwing sport car
Over the weekend they brought me back and showed me the new redesigned model as well as the Roadster. I really liked the changes and the car looked very sexy and attractive. Though it had the unmistakable appearance of a MB it was different enough to look fresh and unique. It still has the gull-wing doors though the Roadster does not. The car has seven speed F1 type transmission with the paddles on the back of the steering wheel. The seats and instrumental panel are well done. In the coupe the interior reminded me of an airplane cockpit. Very tight fitting but poised for performance driving. For me the coupe was to confining and judging from the two other individuals in my group they felt the same way.
I believe a pretty good image of the car is already on the Internet though the recently redesign make it look even more attractive. The car is still powered with a 560hp engine and weighs about 3700lbs. It also has carbon brakes. They gave us no performance numbers but I suspect they will be close to the tt if not better.
The hood/bonnet of the car is very long like the SLR and while in the car it looks huge. Generally I like to sit low but in this car I had to raise the seat to get a better look toward the front of the car.
They had a video of the car on a track and the exhaust is very aggressive very much like a Ferrari.
The price of the car will be more than the Turbo but less than Gallardo and Ferrari. I believe it will attract buyers who want either a Gallardo or Ferrari but cannot get one or just out of their price range. Over all I think MB has a winner with this car particularly the Roadster. I speculate this car will be introduced in the near future within a year or so. Certainly it will be worth waiting for.
