    Need your feed back

    Hey Guys and Girls,

I am in Love with Cayenne but I don't know what is better Cayenne Turbo or Cayenne GTS. some people told me that Cayenne GTS is only made for off road?? why? plus Cayenney Turbo looses it's value by the first year 20% depreciation !! I really don't know what to get.. . can some on give me the wise answer??? I hope RC can join in as well. :O)

    Re: Need your feed back

GTS is the better buy with almost the same look, bigger wheels and better seats. But if you add too much options and its price is approaching the turbo, then just buy the turbo for faster straight line acceleration. They will both lose 20% by first year.

    Re: Need your feed back

Hey Puss In Boots (I love your name man)
In my opinion, the GTS is a much better option with all the standard things you get and as mentioned by Targa Tim. It is true though that the GTS is not advertised as a very capable off road car as the rest of the line due to the big wheels, breaks and sports kit. If you plan on keeping the car on the road most of the time and have a sporty SUV, GTS is the way to go. The base price for the GTS is 280,000 SAR. With the options I picked out here:

    http://www.rennteam.com/favlinker.php?Ca...amp;postmarker=

It came out to about SAR 305,000. Choosing a manual or tiptronic is a 0 SAR option as well. The only thing I contemplated adding was PDCC which is a SAR 10,000 option, I concluded at the end that I wanted the lowest ride possible with the sportiest chasis setup which Porsche claim to be 911 Good. A lot of people swear by it and recommend it though. I've seen mixed reviews regarding the standard suspension with the modified PASM for the GTS.

    Good luck.

    Re: Need your feed back

I for one don't have neither, I'm however getting the GTS, the Turbo is the better car out of the two, and if the money is no issue go for the turbo and if u worried about the look the turbo can look exactly like the GTS with some extra options (monchrome, sports kit, 21" wheels) better yet wait for a while and get the turbo S which which is better than both (if the money is no issue), word of advice wait for the 2009 model and u'll get the updated PCM(NAV, Blutooth, etc..)
the only advantage for GTS is the sport exhaust system (u can't get it on turbo) and it is worth it. GTS however loses when it comes to offroad capability (as I recently learned-thanks to the members of this forum) GTS is more of a road oriented car.
    Hope that helped.
p.s. all cars lose 20% in a year.
    All the best

    Re: Need your feed back

Hi Puss-in-booths (indeed fantastic name !!)

I have made the following summary following my initial quest to find what suited me best (basically pro's & con's).

    Cayenne GTS
+ Cost, still costly but if you want a fantastic race car SUV with the Turbo looks, 21" alloys a real bargain.
+ Porsches best onroad SUV (steel springs and PASM)
+ 6 speed manual gear box as standard
+ With 405bhp, seriously fast, however remember she is a high reving engine and referring to CPA4S summary (driving impressions) she does 3000RPM at 110kph compared to the 1400RPM of the turbo at 110kph
+ Sport design package available (bi-wing rear spoiler)
+ Porsches new interior with Alcantara however remember only 2 seats in the rear
    - No offroad technology package (no steel covers for the gearbox, diffs and fueltank) and not really made for offroading or dune driving
    - PDCC only available as an option if you go for air suspension and tiptronic (both options as well)
    - Spec the GTS to the hill and you might as well go for the turbo and have 100bhp more.
    - The thirstiest SUV under the Cayennes

    Cayenne Turbo
+ Cost, most expensive SUV ever however if you want grand tourer, onroad as well as offroad capabilities, phenominally fast SUV and money is not issue..........
    + Porsches best allround SUV/limo
+ With 500bph and almost stealth capabilities (4.9sec to 100kph). You will like the SPORT button as this makes her even more responsive and balistically fast.
+ Air suspension and tiptronic as standard (PDCC must but option though), making the drive very smooth on soft and far stiffer on sports suspension.
+ Still a very stylish interior, functional, the CTT08 SATNAV etc maybe a little bit outdated but I love the alcantara everywhere apart from the seats.
    - Not sure apart from the immense cost !!! (turbo still outdrives the GTS)

Let me add to this while I am thinking about it

    Cheers,

    Mark
PS, fully agree with all of your comments !!!!

    Re: Need your feed back

Markdsv has summed it up pretty well. It all depends what type of driving you expect to do and what you expect from your vehicle.

I just recently traded in my 04 CTT for an 08 GTS. Apart from the obvious cosmetic differences, I really did notice the loss of mid range torque going to the GTS, compared to the TT. If most of your driving will be long distance highway trips, straight roads (with a little off-road in for a bit of variety), and you want to arrive at your destination relaxed, rested then the CTT is a better choice. It pretty well tackles everything with ease, passes other vehicles on the highway with absolutely no drama, is a phenomenal highway cruiser, but is a little "disconnected" vs the GTS. If most of your driving will be shorter trips, on road (or maybe the occasional smooth gravel road), and you want a more "connected" but maybe a bit more tiring, exhilarating drive, then maybe the GTS is more appropriate.

No one will deny that when the CTT turbos spool up, the acceleration is a rush and addictive, especially at ticket-risking speeds, but somehow the GTS (although being a "slower" vehicle) is a more "involving" driving experience, even for a SUV. It is like comparing a 997TT to a GT3/RS...it all depends on what floats your boat.

    Re: Need your feed back

Get the turbo. You will always wish you had it. I have had 4 CTT's and have an 09 Turbo S on order. I have a friend that has a GTS. The interior on the GTS is nicer by far with the Alcanterra, but the exhaust is what makes it special. In the end, speed wins my opinion. I have done 165 down a freeway in the Turbo outrunning a new Jaguar convertible. You can't do that in a GTS.

have you considered/tried the new X6 at all?
Not that I fancy it, but I've seen tests comparing it to the GTS.

    Re: Need your feed back

With all due respect - I find the X6 hideous. If there was a worst word, I'd use it. The Cayenne in all its varieties is a much better looking car and I know some people find the Cayenne monstrous. If the Cayenne is a monster, what do you call the X6!!!

    Re: Need your feed back

    Hi Reginos,

Just to jump in (smile), I agree with Muhri (smile again, no offence !!) I have had the X5 4.8is (E53) myself and tested the E70 and X6 and although I have to admit not to have test driven the GTS but compared to the CTT both BMW's are are not coming even close (I am a BMW fan by hart having had BMW's for my whole life). The new X5 is even down on power compared to the 'old' X5 (drives like a lexus if you know what I mean). Yes the twin turbo V8 in the X6 is a lovely engine, the car is quirky and she is fast but the GTS is just in a different leaque (no comparison I would say) Remember the X6 is in my opinion an inflated hatchback, not a SUV, not sure what BMW is trying to achieve.

    +1
I'd never take the X6 even if they give it for free (well. i would but i'll sell it in a minute) point is that "thing" is really ugly, I'm a BMW fan btw but I didn't care for their designs since 2002-2003, BMW has lost its edge, and once they get it back I'll be the first one to buy their cars.
Not trying to offend anyone, just my 0.02.

+1 again. We've owned a Z3M for the last ten years since new, from back in the days when BMW styling was a benchmark for others. Audi have them beat these days IMHO.
And what is going on at the rear of the X6?? Looks like they were in a rush to finish the design
