    Almost got nailed by LIDAR. Quick Question.

    Yikes! My fast-paced-but-not-insane enjoyment of my car almost came to an end last night. Cop was playing with his new Laser gun toy. Luckily I was apparently going very near speed limit (area was not "safe" to "speed" in). First time I saw that dreaded zap-you're-dead Starwars countermeasure _my_ neighborhood.

    Quick question: I would be grateful if somebody could tell me which is the best or "best" laser jammer on the market these days.

    Laser Interceptor. The K40 is junk bo today's standards and will not perform against the newest guns.

    Laser Interceptor. The K40 is junk bo today's standards and will not perform against the newest guns.



    I saw all those Laser Interceptor tests too & was about to purchase when I read a nasty rumour. You know that proto-type unit that they gave the guys of lidar for the tests, it seems the market unit is no where near as good. One guy that bought one even said it's crap.

    I was ready to buy an LI based on this but still waiting to see if the rumours are true or not.

    Hey Fellas! Somehow I would have to get my office and home and favorite nudie bar ( ) to relocate to what would probably be the largest track in the world.

    BTW, frickin' highway cop was looking for _ANYBODY_ going at least ten mph over (as opposed to my usual 50 mph over ) .

    The surest way to avoid a speeding ticket is good-old-fashioned PARANOIA... It never fails me...

    Back when I used to run radar detectors and jammers, I averaged a ticket a year...

    Once I tossed all that stuff out, and went back to using my eyes and my instincts... Nothing, clean record for 10+ years now..

    I still pick my spots and have my fun, but I give it more thought than I did prior. Besides, the best police-detectors on earth are the taillamps of the cars ahead of you!

    Yeah good point 69bn. The LIDAR I encountered yesterday was "exactly" where I would have thought he'd be (that's why I was going speed limit at the time ). IOW, they're gonna sit where they can get the most results; the places where the average driver would be caught off guard and the posted speed limit too low.

    Thing that freeks me out is the thought is him sitting there in the middle of one of my favorite high-speed straights (pedal-to-metal when conditions are perfect). I usually expect the "rabbit" in front of me to warn me of Radar. Now: no warning!

    @#$%ing Laser!

    happya$$ is very impressed with the performance of the market units. That being said, the first batch had a nasty propensity to leak water like the Titanic. A Laser Pro Park would also be a good choice in that case, as the quality is top-notch.
