Motorexpo 2008

Happening at Canary Wharf in London's financial district from 9-15 June 2008 and in New York City from 15-19 September 2008:

No details yet of the exhibitors but these will be released nearer the time. Hopefully, I'll try to post photos of any hot new cars making their debut

Found it a little poor the last year... It is free though so musnt grumble too much!

Really hope Nissan bring a GTR along as I'm really looking forward to seeing one in the metal

I popped in today to have a look around. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed this year. Highlights:

Aston Martin DBS
Pagani Zonda F (Group 20 supercar club)
BMW M3 M-DCT
Sunseeker luxury cruiser
Confederate motorbikes (WOW!)
McLaren Mercedes SLR with Kahn pimped up wheels

Porsches were just: TT, Cayman, Boxster S Sport Edition, Boxster RS60 Spyder (which looked lovely), Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne GTS.

There are far fewer exhibitors and it's more focussed on a few high end brands. The cheaper ones just haven't showed up. A real let down.

I took my camera but I just didn't feel like photographing anything at all. Maybe it's just me - I've been so busy on other things recently that I'm just not focussed on cars right now but I just felt really unimpressed by the cars on show.

What do the other Wharfers here think of the Motorexpo this year?

It's coming to NY in Sept. Hope it's better there than it has been here!

If I've listed anything that you would really like photos of, then just let me know through this thread. I've got my camera with me today but won't have it the rest of this week.

Easy you forgot to mention the Integrale on the opp end of the Zonda!!

I agree it is disappointing this year - the best cars I've seen are the Zonda, SLR and Integrale... The Ferraris are old, and the SLR and others with "Kahn" wheels look plain wrong!

Where is the DBS btw?

It's on the Aston Martin stand inside One Canada Square. There's a DBS, Vantage Roadster and DBP Volante inside. There's a couple of Astons outside (in the Limo parking area) but they belong to a performance car club (not Aston Martin).

You know that Zonda sits there all night every night - I walked past close to midnight (working late ;-)) and there was no-one around...!

Oh really? Maybe I should head over there with a tow truck at 02:45 tomorrow night. BTW, did you check out the yatches at the dock? I got on board of all of them. Astounding experience, they are practically like small family houses. 3 bath rooms and such. It's nuts.
