    Nurburgring time of 7:1? be possible?

    With all these cars trying ever so closely to beat each others ring times, will the possiblity of a PRODUCTION road car beating the 7:20 mark be possible. Open wheel cars and cars like the radicals don't apply. Basically a car where you listen to the radio and have AC blowing in your face.

    Some more adjustments for the EU market and the standard GTR will easily do 7.1x. And the VSpec will be below 7 minutes...

    ...but then no one should believe it due to false advertising... and the fact that HvS wasn't the driver.

    Come on, that's too easy, Nissan has their sight on 6:30 for the V-Spec.

    With improvements in TIRE and SUSPENSION technology, yes.

    More engine power has never been the issue per se and is not the answer.

    The use of lighter but stronger materials in production cars (CF, Magnesium, Aluminium) will contribute too.

    Remember the GT-R is a HEAVY car, it's almost 4000lb in weight. So Nissan is going the OTHER way, the heavier the better it seems. Heavier car, bigger contact patch on the road, more grip to them.

    The Techart GT STREET RS(base on 997GT2) may prossibly do this time.
    And this car wears Michellin Pilot sports cup PLUS tires.

    I'm throwing the Gumpert Apollo in. Propably not the most beautiful supercar, but certainly a very fast one with its agressive aero-design, which should supply a healthy amount of downforce. Of course 650 PS, 850 Nm and 1200kg (~2650 lbs; dry) won't hurt either.

    EDIT: I contacted the Gumpert-PR-Department earlier this year, to find out, if and when the Apollo will be tested by SportAuto in the supertest and they said it would be tested later this year. So hopefully we know better at the end of the year.
