    new generation GT3?

    does anyone know what will happen to the GT3 in the next generation of 997? Is there a 2009 or 2010 build scheduled? What will the differences be? How about in the RS iteration? I'm about to buy an 07 RS... don't want to regret the purchase in 3 months or something like that... any rumors?

    I only know the rumors (no facts) and they include DFI motor for around 440hp and more torque and 7-speed PDK gearbox with Launch control and PSM and US-legal carbon sport seats (like GT2) availability in about a year. Even though I doubt that I would enjoy the new GT3 much more than the current one, it's appearance could negatively impact the resale value of the current RS (which is still over sticker).

    The question is whether Porsche will make an updated RS version. If this is the case then for sure the values of the current RS will decrease...

    thks for the info guys... I don't understand the difference between the fuel injection and direct fuel injection, surely we are not suing carburators now... so what is teh upgrade actually about?

    Do you really think they would miss the occasion of selling an RS version?

    I hope they reduce the weight on the new GT3 - then all the new features will make more sense...

    Im sure Porsche would want to offer an updated RS but this would anger some of the customers of the original 997 RS so Im not sure if they would actually go through with it... I can definitely see a new updated RS but I can also see Porsche not releasing an updated RS just an updated GT3...so I dont know.

    If they don't offer a new RS, then new (non-RS) GT3 will be faster than current RS and that doesn't make sense either (or make RS owners comforted).
