    New owner - C4S

    ... the 996 section needs an injection of posts.... So I thought I'd introduce myself and my new love: 2002 C4S Orient Red/Graphite, Adv Tech, ext warranty - beautiful shape, well cared for over its 41k miles. Originally I didn't want such a high mileage car - but the color on a C4S was too much to pass up!

    So "hello" Rennteamers, I look forward to contributing more now that I'll have more first hand experience.

    Thats an awesome car! I rememeber a 996 C4S turning up at my work when I didn't expect it, spent all my lunchbreak looking at it!

    great car and welcome to rennteam but i've got one question....a 2002 c4s with 41k (65.600 km) is a high mileage car????no offense man but you gotta be kidding me.

    Heh, yeah. Where's that leave me with my 20k mile '07? Agreed on the color, Malakas. It's drop-dead gorgeous.

    Ok, ok - you guys are right - 42K is not really high mileage. Luckily for me, the market commands a decrease in price over 40K in miles... but I plan to keep the car... eventually transform it into a more track dedicated beast... so I could care less about miles (except for maintenance reasons).

    I wish it had the PSE! Right now though the engine sound is intoxicating enough. I love the color more and more - different without being strange.

    The C4S always had a slightly different, more throaty sounding exhaust - even without the PSE.
    Not the right car for the track - too heavy, too much understeer.
    I had a black one ('03) for a couple of years in Switzerland (with the neighbour waking PSE! which is particularly enjoyable with all the racomplaining Swiss locals generally). Wonderful car. Particularly enjoyable on mountain passes in all conditions. Superlative traction, magnificent brakes (IMHO a lot more direct, and less assisted than in the 997 S/4S). And loved the extra aggression from front and back.
    I was truly sorry to see it go, and thought long and hard about leaving it in a garage in Switzerland for when I would go back... quite a silly idea really...

    I agree - it does seem a little more "raw" than the other standard C2 (without PSE) that I have heard or drove. I thought that was just me...

    The exhaust sound is great - but you know how this addiction goes... Im looking into a Tubi.

    Beautiful car. I still believe 996 C4S is the most beautiful 911 in 996 lineup.

    Hi,

    The R8 is in Austin and is become a garage queen . I'm seriously thinking about the new 911s once it becomes available. Need ot test drive it first though, When 997.1 came out I was not impressed with it but with 997.2 Porsche SEEMS to have listened to some owners and convertees .

    Which dealership did you get your beauty from ?

    Garage queen?!? You need to let that lady breath a little bit... nothing like driving the countryside in and around Austin.

    Actually I was working with someone at Porsche North Houston - they are realtively new so are very very easy to work with. I had a deal fall through with them (at literally the last minute) and was still just shopping around when I came upon my 4S for sale privately in Austin. I thought the color was incredible - reminded me of a darker Lambo Rosso Vik.

    Now the mod bug has me held captive - I'm having some interior pieces re-done in Alcantara next week - and the SSK installed. After that...a few DE days!

    I agree the 997.2 will be tremendous, especially with the DFI engines. Look forward to seeing your next steed.
