Weird name, but was Cayenne or Cayman as weird back then?

Unusual name, I concede. But certainly not as corny as roadster, or speedster. And remember that the 911 was not always a Carrera—a name related to a Mexican road race which had absolutely no connection with the major European or US markets at the time. I do think the name will be confusing to pronounce, but so is Porsche and Macan
To contradict myself yet again, I think I would’ve preferred Mission E ( but over the years, with the certain proliferation of electric vehicles, would itself become commonplace).
So, bottom line of my post, I’m confused by at all. But at 75 years old, I am entitled be as confused as I damn well want to be. 😎

One keeps looking at the profile of the Taycan in the video and keep noting that the shape is significantly different than the prototype cars circulating around on the road. Evidently those prototypes are very heavily camouflaged. For example, note that the video illustrates a car with heavily peaked front wings, not apparent in the spy shots. If one looks closely, the rearview mirrors are almost hidden behind the peaked fenders in the front profile images. This is reminiscent of the 919, and would help lower the drag coefficient of the car, which is important for increasing the range of an EV. Also note the roof profile is much faster than the cars in the spy shots too, making it closer to a 911's or Cayman's profile. This car is probably more a 2+2 than pure sedan like the Panamera. From a marketing perspective, this makes sense. I'm becoming more and more interested in this car.
One final observation, given Porsche's current naming convention with Macan, and now Taycan, while the crossover variant be named Pecan?

EnglishManInNY:Wonderbar:The price will follow the current Panamera models.
And the current Pamamera models are already way too expensive!
True but that may not be too expensive for an elecric car.
The Panamera and the S class are too similarly priced in our region. Yet the latter sells much better.

That’s the rumor. But it doesn’t make sense for many reasons especially in the USA as I’ve said it many time before:
1) since it would perform better than a $150k Panamera turbo and be cooler (EV), it would destroy Panamera sales, and Cayenne at the edge also
2) at that price it makes Tesla S really really expensive, it even reaches the price of a high spec model 3. Actually it makes the entire Tesla brand completely irrelevant
3) take my example, I would totally buy a nicely specced “Taycan” for $90k just for kicks, or its Macan EV equivalent. At these prices it is simply too cheap to pass on and a worthy addition to any stable. Also for a while at least, if the final car is close to the concept, it will have that exclusive cool exotic factor that other very exclusive brands have and that IMHO Porsche lacks except for the 918.
4) Porsche has the highest margins of mass car manufacturers. If you think they will come out with a car that the market tells them is too cheap, they won’t (GT4 lesson learned).
5) handling satill needs to be determined, but if Porsche works its magic it has with the heavy Panamera Macan and Cayenne, added to the advantageous law of phisycs of EV cars (lower center of gravity), it could outcless everything else int he sedan category, all for $85k ???
All these have only one logical conclusion: the final price of the car you would buy will by much much higher, at least Tesla P100D level ie $130k.
