    997tt CG exhaust VS. GT3 exhaust

    Gents: Is the CG loud version exhaust for the 997tt louder than the GT3 stock exhaust?

    Does it sound better than the GT3?

    If you're looking for race car sound, look at the Tubi. It makes the car sound like a freakin GT3RSR at full throttle, while very sedate and drone free cruising. I haven't heard the CG loud, but I would stay clear of anything with "loud" in the name.

    Doug, don't be so hasty to say that. I can definitely tell you that the GT3/RS stock exhaust is LOUDER than my CG loud system. I had a chance to ride/listen to a stock GT3 and that pretty much clinched it for me. Now a GT3 with a GMG exhaust, that was beyond "loud" on several levels!

    Jason, true enough I have yet to hear a CG LOUD in person, but all the posts ( in addition to the name) recently describing a high degree of resonance/drone lead me to jump to that conclusion. It is all very subjective, one man's throaty exhaust note is another mans severe drone.

    which posts about the cg loud are describing a high degree of resonnance/ drone? did I miss them?

    There are a few posts (Rc and Jason, etc) under that CG loud is LOUD post, you'll have to read through them. There was also this article http://www.parr-uk.co.uk/parr-media/036-GT-0208.pdf
    I haven't heard the CG (any version) so I am just jumped to a conclusion, which is not really fair. I feel the same way about my Tubi, some say it has drone, I have yet to see it. It's either the installation or the perception or both...

    thanks for the link, I haven't seen it before and I am extremely surprised with the "constant drone at low speed" .
    Mine has none of that, actually it is almost stock quiet at low speed and that's the only thing I dislike about it. But I do agree that at high rpms it is not for the faint of heart.

    Installation is everything with a clamped exhaust like CG or FS. If you misalign the cans/cats, etc with either one of these brands, you WILL get drone. Not that they are bad systems, hell I have the FS quiet system(which otta be called the moderate system) and highly recommend it, just their Achille's heel is the very thing that makes them unique, ie the clamps and modularity.

    I rode in a friends with cg, nice sound at wot with little drone at cruise.I like the tubi as well , comes down to personal taste.
