    something wrong

    Yesterday my car reached it's top-speed at 335. But i felt it was jerking. The pressure was oscillating between 0.9 and 1.3 bar. Does someone know what the right max pressure is?

    It sounds as if your car may have been modified, in which case only the tuner would be able to answer that question.

    After posting the above reply I realized that you have a 996 GT2, not a Turbo as I had assumed.

    Was the jerking caused as a result of running into the rev limiter at about 6.750rpm?

    it became jerking when it passed 6000 rpm. My car has a stock engine.

    It sounds as if your stock engine is homesick and wants to make a trip to the dealer.


    But it still pulled 335 km/h on the speedo!

    I knew you'd had it modified! Top speed was supposed to be 319 km/h!

    It indeed sounds like you ran into the rev limiter. Shouldn't be your fault if you mis-read it at that speed!

    i think i was in the rev, but before the car was already jerking since 6000 rpm.

    Could be fuel mass sensor, unless of course you were hitting the rev limiter. Common problem in 996tt series. Good to change them once every 2 years, tough to see when they start giving wrong numbers and you lose power gradually until they stop working.

    the answer is that the waste-gates were liking sometimes. The normal boost pressure is 0,8 bar. The engine cuts when it sees 1,3-1,4 bar.
