    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

Regular (plain yellow) works better for me :-)

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

looks good with carbon...where did you get the mesh for the air intakes ?

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

    Without. That's nasty.

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

    IMO?

It's nice that looks-wise they fit very well with the rest of the car.

OTOH, I'm in the "less-is-more" camp and so would avoid them.

    Just keep the look original.

off topic, how do you compare your Lotus and GT3 in terms of handling?

    thanks

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

I think it looks very sporty and matches the GT3. It makes it look a little more aggressive. Minimalism and low profile is more for a carrera or turbo.

Interestingly the porsche 2-colored mirrors are different: They paint the lower bar of the mirror.

Different cars. At least for me. You simply have a weight advantage with the Lotus and you can really "chuck" it around as it so nimble. To drive fast you need to carry the speed through corners as you have litte power to accelerate you. On a twisty track you can pressure much more powerful cars. The GT3 for me is a higher league. Everything is much faster and happens quicker and you drive much more power oriantated. Both fun but different cars...

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

I love the black/yellow mirrors, I'd keep them!

Is there a special reason why you've put "chicken wire" in the front vents? Afraid for stone chips or just for the racy look?

Yes there is. As i'm doing track, i'm afraid of getting stones.

Well as said below. 2 different cars. The weight does already a uge difference. Then the conception of the car and the distribution of the mass does a difference as well.
On the Lotus to get a good car in what i've been doing with it(Track) had to change the suspension and other small adjustment. By doing those changes, i get a car much precise.

In the technical parts i would give the Lotus a 10 and the GT3 a 6. Then what can i say. Two wonderfull cars, great fun, great sensations but two differents ways of driving.

The Lotus alloyds you more errors that you can easely correct. It's a toy.

The GT3, for what i discovered untill today, doesn't alloyd you much errors. You need to get a proper drive, break at the right moment, to accelerate at the right moment.

    My conclusion:
Lotus = Great toy and easy to handle
GT3 = Great car, easy to drive and to handle with precision.

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

My 2 cents: I have no strong feelings either way. It neither adds much visually nor does it spoil it. But the GT3 is already quite a busy, aggressive looking car so I would probably not fit the carbon mirrors.

After all, let's face it Cram, you have just about the most amazing driver's car money can buy. You really don't NEED to do anything more

    All the best

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

    Which mirrors weigh less?

Thanks, I know the power is less than GT3, but the new S240 which has 240bhp and about 1000kg, that might closer to current GT3 power to weight ratio.
I just want to buy a toy, while I am waiting the new facelift 911.

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

then buy an normal elise and get a supercharged honda motor fitted. close to 300hp on ca. 900 kg weight. that is what I call a toy...

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

    300HP 900KG that's faster than GT3.

No it was the Exige MK2 classic but with a compressor. The car had 240 HP for 950 KG. car and cause i loved it. The car has been replaced for the GT3. and very SORY FOR THE PICTURE WHICH DOESN'T BELONG IN THIS TOPIC AT ALL

    240 HP

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

Hey I think they look cool. The black accents definitely tie the wheels into the car. I know its not really practical now but PCCB w/black wheels and those mirrors would look stunning. Probably not worth the extra dough but powder coating the calipers yellow or black would be a big improvement imho. Awesome car!

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

Cram is there any possible chance we can hear a sound clip of yuor baby????

Like easy has said, I like the mirrors but I also like the stock mirrors!!!

Enjoy it in good health man!

    Re: GT3 Carbon mirrors

Are those PS pictures? It looks like black tape for me.

I personally prefer the stock look, those black accents just add to much attention to those mirrors. Not necessary in my eyes...
