    What's the number of annual production for R8? is it limited to 4500 or less?

    I cannot like this car for the life of me. I've seen one up close but it doesn't stir anything for me.

    I don't think anyone can hate the R8... but some are not yet convinced with it... I felt in love with the car back in 2003 in Frankfurt when I was invited to see the prototype before the official launch... still, 4 years later I ordered a 430 scuderia instead of the R8... and I was realllllllly tempted to have one of the first R8... Don't get me wrong, I know it's a really great car, but somehow to me the novelty of the R8 weares off pretty fast... same happened to me with the A5... and I still own an A4 so I don't hate Audi at all...

    Matte is extremely difficult to apply to a production line car . You only get one chance - i.e., you can't polish out an imperfection in the spray booth !

    Andrea,

    Ceramic Brakes on R8 are from SGL. Fronts are the same as on 997 Turbo, rears are even little bit bigger(356mm). Why Ceramics? Few reasons:
    -constant pedal feel and brake power
    -no brake dust
    -weight, R8 Ceramics are over 15kgs lighter then standard Iron brakes

    I agree with you that there are few issue with Ceramics as well:
    -not as fast reaction on brake pedal on wet road. Iron brakes do not have that problem
    -Ceramics are more fragile as well

    BUT, IMHO for truly fast car(and R8 is true sportscar) Ceramics are a must. Of course if money is not an issue...

    I know from personal experience that standard R8 brakes are great. My contact at Quattro Gmbh told me that R8 Ceramics are amazing.

    Yes, I wanted them too but, Ceramics are confirmed for Februar 2008. Titanium 19" are not. So, I decided to skip them.

    BTW, maybe I will get R8 very soon... More news next week...

    I came back to edite my post but I see you already replied.

    I realised you did not mentioned the Magnetic ride: not sporty enough ? They did perform well lastly on the Ring (7.58 on the SA Supertest)...

    Of course with Magnetic Ride. It is essential option for R8 IMHO. It works so much better then PASM on 997 Turbo for example...
