First Snow! Winter Pics Year 2
so I woke up this morning to a snowy (ish) white day! The snow wasn't going to last so I decided to drive up some local mountains to experience some winter adventures and driving.. Having summer tires i realized I was fukced going up the hill. the road was covered in snow with paches of clean asphalt. Makign it up hill was a challenge as i had NO grip in certain parts and barely made it to the clean parts.
Coming down was even worse and i was almost certain i woulnt make it. I pulled my hand brake slightly so the rear would have some breaking but not too much ( dont need locking up of the rear tires). the front was behaving very sketchy as any braking resulted in immidiate lock up of front tires and therefore NO direction.. i was going downhill without control. The first part i managed to keep her in the road and eventhough i had to pick up speed in order to maintain steering abilitiy, i slowed back down where possible in the clean spots. Once it was really close as the road was bending harsh to the left on a decline of about 12%. engine braking the whole time i eventually made it without dying. SO there you go.. my heart was pumping and i learned a lot about snow driving. Im definitely not going up any hills or mountain roads again on my summer ties as they really are useless.
anyways that was my saturday morning experience.. enjoy the pictures.
