Grant:
They killed the appeal with the Subaru engines.
A complete reskin might be the only savior. As in a 912. Ultra low spec 911 with 718 motor. Please don’t shoot me for suggesting.

718 sales are higher than ever...
We, petrolheads, loves the NA, the linked to motorsport, big displacement engine, flat 6 and blabla..we are a very small percentage.
the classic Porsche client from the past few years is different.

My dealer said 718 sales are less than half as those from 981 era...

718 is +6% compared to last year...where the overall production is about 4%...
total production = 246,375
718 production = around 25,000
65% of the sold cars are SUV...
Panamera is +83% compared to last year - 28,000
first market is China with more than 71,000 delivered cars. Increased 10% compared to last year.
Germany is the only downside market with -2 to -3%

The engine capacity of the 718 lines up with insurance cutoffs in most of the world, so it might actually be cheaper for some to buy the 718 instead of it's predecessors.
While most hated the engine, I drove it on ice and drifted the damn thing too. It handles, it's got power, hell even the throttle control is actually better than the on/off switch in the Carrera 2, I can actually modulate the throttle in the 718 vs a guessing game in the C2. End result? I keep spinning the C2 while I can hold a 718 drifting until I got tired.
