    Nice PS job

    Re: 997 GT3 Spied

Yeah, clearly photoshop material, but still looks nice. Do you think that Porsche will keep the same wheel design for the 997 GT3?

    Just curious,

Nobody really knows at this point but RC may

    Re: 997 GT3 Spied

very impressive PS job! I like it.

    Re: 997 GT3 Spied

This car looks great! Hopefully Porsche will come up with a similar aerokit design for the 997.

Do you think that we will see 400hp on the next 997 GT3?

Just curious...did "mehrabani1" make this PS beauty or your "friend"???

    Re: 997 GT3 Spied

My friend for sure...First picture has been cut. Anyway it's ok, that's nice to see how gt3 could be...

Now I can see it, you're right. I actually don't like people to remove the copyright or logos from pictures, this is why I asked. Sorry for the first picture, we can remove it if you want it. Otherwise, thanks...great job.

From the dyno tests, the current GT3 already has over 400hp. Hopefully, the 997GT3 will have over 425hp...

That's not true...I was in Stuttgart this weekend visiting Porsche factory and while I was in the engine department I take a look to the GT3 RS engines: just one over the 6 that were there had more than the expected Hp (and not that more, just 383Hp...) all the others five had between 370 and 375Hp! I was quite impressed...

Maybe that was at the wheels?

I don't think so...I was talking about GT3RS engines just tested and not yet mounted on the car...so I assume that real HP at the wheels will be even less!

Can't say much about dyno tests but from what I heard about factory engine testing, the GT3 engines produce around 375-385 HP, some engines "hit" 390 HP but I never heard of anything close to 400 HP.

Rumors indicate that the new 997 GT3 gets 400 HP, maybe 397 HP, maybe 402 HP.
This will be more than enough to offer a performance better than on the current 996 Turbo, not to speak about the improved track performance.

It would've been nice to know the actual HP of our cars from Porsche, but I guess they will never give it, immagine if it appears to be 365 HP...what would happen!
Where did you read the HP output of the engine you saw?

Every engine had a card over it with all the important things to know: the name of who build it, the HP output, the maximum torque and so on...we took also a look at the "normal" GT3 engines and the HP output was more or less the same! So the fact that only the best engines producing more than the expexted HP were mounted on RS cars it's not true...

By the way I don't care about having 7 or 8Hp more or less...my car is already too fast for me!!!

    Re: 997 GT3 Spied

    just excellent!!.
    very impressive

Don't forget, these engines are still kinda tight; people were reporting 400bhp on engines with over 1000 miles.

    Re: 997 GT3 Spied

The 996's 3.4 litre engines hardly hit the 300hp mark. I think it was Ruf, who worked on that problem before tweaking out even more hp.

I also believe that the output might improve after a couple of miles.
I might assume, that especially high-revving engines (GT3, 360 Modena, M3) are quite dependent on an appropriate brake-in period, since especially the contact patches between piston and cylinder wall might influence the amount of friction - which therefore occurs especially at high rpm numbers.

MaxT, nice video of Jean and you, by the way! Want to see more of that!

Oh, and nice work in Photoshop!

i am sure they also told you in the factory what they told me last week, that they will accept engine output that is minimum 100% and maxi 105% depending on parts precision ,so i dont think they might have less than 381hp...
