    Spec sticker question

Hi All, My last P car was a 996 C4S. It had a sticker under the bonnet (or hood for you merkins) which showed the factry option codes. I looked at C2S at the weekend to confirm it was C16 but found no such sticker. This made me think the car had replacement bonnet but I'm wondering if they moved them somewhere else on 997? (the sales guy was clueless!) Can anyone confirm where this sticker should be? (or even if they have them on 997)

    Re: Spec sticker question

I collected my car from the factory at Zuffenhausen in Stuttgart. There was no sticker listing option codes under the bonnet. Instead the Servicing Booklet had a sticker on the inside of the front cover which listed the options.

    Re: Spec sticker question

since 2005 there is no stick under the bonnet but only in your service book.

There's actually a place in one of the books for the sticker - some dealers leave it loose with all the books, others put it in the book and some others even stick it under the hood.

    Re: Spec sticker question

Tom is correct. Since MY2005 that sticker was removed.

    Re: Spec sticker question

Thanks all - they deliver it Wednesday (assuming they can tax it!!)

    Re: Spec sticker question

I hate to admit it but:

I scanned and printed the sticker on a sticky label paper. Then I stuck in on the bonnet inside. Just to mess everybody up when the issue arises.

Nah..., just kidding..., I figured the sticker belongs with the car as "official documentation," NOT the with the manuals which can be lost.

I don't know about you folks, but my 06 PCA Club Coupe has the options sticker on the front trunk (or if you prefer, bonnet) hood, and there's a second copy of it in the service book. Perhaps your dealers there are removing the sticker from the hood

How do you like your Club Coupé? I registered back then for either being fortunate enough to get one for free or for the chance to be able to buy it from the dealer. No such luck so I ended up getting a C2S in Arctic Silver with X51 and Aerokit. I would have loved to be able to buy the Club Coupé and I wouldn't have added an Aerokit to that car in particular - it would have stayed as it came. Enjoy the car!

I love my Club Coupe--the color is marvelous. Of the 6 Porsches I've owned, including a 99 Boxster and an 01 Turbo when both were still scarce, this one attracts the most attention and positive comments of any I've had.

X51 is a great option, and at the Club Coupe pricing, I cannot complain that it costs too much. I actually prefer the Club Coupe to the Turbo--the Club Coupe launches faster due to no turbo lag, and I like the more progressive torque curve that builds.

And of course there is the joy of telling interested folks the story of landing #2 without really trying; although I wasn't trying for a lower number car, it sure was a nice surprise to end up with the lowest number of the series (since Porsche kept #1).

My plan is to keep the car until either it dies or I do

Porsches are amazing--to feel fortunate to "win" the opportunity to buy a $100K + car with options!!! Who would have ever 'thunk' it. First time I ever won anything of consequence.
