    323 km/h

    here it is...
the question is... wich should be the max speed in the SPEEDO that it goes?? the revs where in 6.800 rpm, the LIMIT IS?
    anyone?

    Re: 323 km/h

The limit is not the revs, it's limited by electronic at 323 km/h. At this speed turbo pressure cuts off by electronic - revs could be about 200 more; behaviour on my 997TT tiptronic.

    Re: 323 km/h

sorry!!! the vid here it is!!

    Re: 323 km/h

Most amazing on this video how quick you go back from 323 to 240... was there a reason for breaking hard.

Why was the explanation mark light on - empty fuel?

    Re: 323 km/h

scare to drive that speed at night...

    Re: 323 km/h

Fantastic Xandi, this video is very very cool!!

    Re: 323 km/h

What's that exclamation mark for? Was there an issue with your car at the time?

    Re: 323 km/h

    323kmh = 200.70 mph? Holy!

    Re: 323 km/h

i think maybe the traction control as turn off...

Nope, there's another symbol for that. An exclamation mark surrounded by a circular arrow.

And don't forget that those speedos are notoriously known to be overly optimistic. The only way to get a true speed reading is to use a handheld GPS device from within the car or have someone radar/laser a speed reading of your car from outside.

    Re: 323 km/h

hi there! the vid was done in a autobahn . the reason that it was done at night is because there is no traffic.

the red light is because EMPTY FUEL. the car had 2 persons .

the question is... what should happen after 323 km/h? will the 6th gear cut because the REVS? whats the MAX SPEED in the SPEEDO for the TT?

    Re: 323 km/h

Empty fuel? Did you guys run out of gas? One can imagine how quickly gas is consumed at those speeds. I recall riding in a RUF Rturbo with a full tank of gas at 213 mph for a short amount of time in which the gas gauge quickly dropped down to the half tank mark.

And the Autobahn? At the beginning of the video, it says Brasil so I thought the video was taken somewhere down there. All I can say is that you're insane.

I don't say it again what happens EXACTLY at 323km/h (Speedometer)

    Re: 323 km/h

    Very nice, thanks for sharing

    Re: 323 km/h

the car cuts 6th in 7000 RPMS?

    Re: 323 km/h

OK, now i see your point. It seems, that the tiptronic has a longer 5th then your manual 6th. On my 997TT tip the eletronic limits the speed at exactly 323 km/h and at this moment the revs could get around 200 higher. So the engine could go faster but electronics says: No! This should be around real 311 km/h as some other rennteam guys told me. That's the reason why a chipped 997TT tip isn't faster than stock in case of topspeed, because the limit comes from the tiptronic and most of the chippers are not capable to release this limit -> rennteam know how, not mine ;-)

This is VERY DANGEROUS for the engine, full throttle runs should not be attempted with the fuel light on !!!!
With the rate of fuel delivery at the speeds you were travelling a lean condition could occur in a split second and POP goes your engine.....Nice vid tho'

Agreed....a friend of mine drove his Ford pickup truck until he hit empty (not on purpose) and it damaged his fuel injectors as a result. Definitely wouldn't recommend doing that to yours either. You didn't run out of gas during that run did you?

    Re: 323 km/h

well the truth is that my "system" of FUEL is not right. the system always tell that is empty but it is not. i will fix it soon!

    Re: 323 km/h

here is a vid for my stock 997TT doing 5-322km/h
Sorry it taken by mobile phone

Not to mention that a blow engine at that speed could upset the balance of the car, the result being not so pretty

It seems that the video has been removed by the user . . .

Incriminating evidence of a reckless and illegal act that gives the rest of us a bad name?

Tiptronic tuning problem has been solved a long time ago, the second time I drove a RUF Tip 997 Turbo, the top speed was 341(!) kph on the speedo, around REAL 327 kph or so, I don't remember anymore.
Again: the Tip issue has been solved.
