Unfortunately the ACO has made sure that the Spyders will not be in contention for overall wins next year. (assuming IMSA applies the regs , which they will no doubt sooner or later)
It's a real shame. this is a great car and its painful to see it being castrated into submission.

Those three cars looked surprisingly different in comparison.
The Carrera GT has the most recent supercar details and proportions. The RS Spyder is surprsingly huge, even longer than the Carrera GT but a bit narrower. At least on the 2006 version the front looks very massive, very functional with simply shaped surfaces when it comes to its design. The Carrera GT's front is much more subtle, both reg. surface and detailing.
The GT1 was the biggest surprise on that field, its odd overhangs and proportions making it look somewhere in between a super- and a clowncar. A couple of subtle parts, as the airoutlets on the front hood speak a different language as those boisterous wheel arches. The car's cabin uses much more proportional height than on the Carrera GT for example, therefore appearing much more dramatic in terms of low height. Seeing this car in traffic must cause a stir...
Interestingly, both cars, the GT1 and the RS Spyder, are initially designed as race cars. That was the most surprising thing to me, that ten years of design and engineering at Porsche can put out two entirely different cars in these respect (layout and regulation differences kept aside).
